Simply solution for Fields & Ziegler
Simply solution for Fields & Ziegler
Assuming both players even return next year (I never bank on anything anymore), both of these guys can do one very simple thing to improve their games. Work on their shots. Period, end of story. This is clearly each guy’s Achilles’ heel as both are decent defenders, but both are liabilities from the perimeter on the other end of the floor. And teams fully know that they aren’t a threat to hurt them from the perimeter. After the massive loss of Turner, we cannot play a starting backcourt that features two non-scorers. We’ll get roasted if we try it. Shooting is the one thing ANY player can do - even by themselves - to improve. They don’t need anything other than a ball and hoop. If they can get into a gym, even better. But they both need to be putting up a ton of shot this offseason. It’s the one part of their game they can improve and if committed, it will show. If not, that’ll show too.

I think Methany starts.
Re: Simply solution for Fields & Ziegler
Fields has shown the ability to knock down shots, he was just the 5th option and didnt get enough consistent looks. Expecting a big uptick in offensive numbers for him this year
Excited to see if Ziegler develops a stop-and-pop game. With his ability to get to the rim, defenders will start to play off him. If he can knock down that shot off the dribble, he'll be lethal.

Lots of 2 star players in the MAC, lacking in one area or another.
