I think we pulled the scholarship offer on Davis when Cam Young signed.drumstix2388 wrote:Josiah Fulcher named to the Division 1 first team all-state. Player of the year was Kent State signee VonCameron Davis.

Super weird stats. Looked like a knockdown 3 guy who lost it once he xfered?

Re: 2020-2021 Recruiting
Frankie Hughes and Willie Jackson we're really fun to watch together at Garfield Heights. They went to Missouri together before Jackson ended up at UT. I think Jackson is out of eligibility or else I'd say maybe they reunite up there. It seems like Hughes is gonna be a woulda, shoulda, coulda. He was committed to Louisville out of high school before that program blew up and has now fizzled out at Mizzou and Duquense. He definitely has Turner like scoring potential though.Globetrotter wrote:Another guy we offered long ago Grad xfering

Sonny Johnson, GH head coach has developed many D1 players. Oddly enough, most of them went to one school only to transfer to another, many times to a MAC school. OU, Miami, UT, along with Cle. State we’re just some of schools along the way. In addition to the schools you mentioned, Penn St. Was another.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)

WDTV on Recruit Kaden Metheny...
This season, as a senior, Metheny became the Hawks’ all-time leading scorer, broke the school’s 3-point mark and surpassed 2,000-career points to help UHS (22-3) claim the top seed in Class AAA for the state tournament. For this, he is the 2020 Bill Evans Award winner, announced Sunday by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.

I get the feeling watching him he's our next star. We beat out a bunch of teams for him. He's undersized but his range is nuts and he has guts. Seems like he has a chip on his shoulder. I could see him being who we build the team around after Plowden graduates. If he doesn't start I will be very surprised. He won't be kept off the court.Falcon Commander wrote:WDTV on Recruit Kaden Metheny...

If Juice moves on we will be DESPERATE for scoring. Plowden is super athletic, but has not yet shown the ability to score as a primary option...his points are catch 'n' shoot, or dunks. He's not a guy that can iso and score off his own moves.Globetrotter wrote:I get the feeling watching him he's our next star. We beat out a bunch of teams for him. If this kid can fill it up, even if it's just catch 'n' shoot, when he steps on campus, he will absolutely start. We may need C. Turner to start as well. Unless Fields and Swingle and Zeigler come out with vastly improved offensive game (Zeigler is the one who I believe can get there), we're going to need some newcomers to give us points.

44 in black is an Illinois recruit I think. Our guy is 3 in white.Falcon Commander wrote:Kaden Metheny Game Highlights at Christmas Beachball Tourney in Myrtle Beach, 2019...

Man oh man do i love his stroke. The ball goes into the basket as softly as anyone I've seen in a long time. He is definitely what you would call a "pure" shooter. I think it's pretty much a given that Turner won't be back; I think he wants to play in a P-5 setting to give himself more exposure to the NBA and overseas, assuming all of that comes back after the pandemic.Globetrotter wrote:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bORxO1R4e_s

Ha ha...we'll I could not be happier to have been wrong. Glad Turner is coming back. Assuming we don't have another pandemic (or a continuation of this one), BG should again be a favorite to win the MAC.Falconwriter wrote:Man oh man do i love his stroke. Re: 2020-2021 Recruiting
With Turner returning that mattos scholarship should go to a juco or grad transfer athlete over 6'7.
If you're tall and can run/jump and willing to compete for boards you'll play 25 mpg on a possible tourney team. We cannot waste his senior season with more giant corpses at the 5 spot.
