Goaltender Christian Stoever is no longer committed to Merrimack, according to Jeff Cox of the New England Hockey Journal. Per the report, it was a mutual parting of ways.
Stoever, a ’00-born goalie, was slated to arrive at Merrimack this season but after arriving on campus in the summer, he moved back to the USHL and the Des Moines Buccaneers.
In six games this season, Stoever has a 3.07 GAA and a .913 save percentage; last season with the Youngstown Phantoms, Stoever posted a 3.78 GAA and an .866 save percentage.
@JeffCoxSports: Des Moines ‘00 goalie Christian Stoever no longer committed to Merrimack in mutual parting of ways. Named USHL Goaltender of the Week earlier today. Warriors have 3 freshman goalies so move makes sense for both sides. 4:34 PM · Nov 5, 2019
Figured I'd sweep the dust off my recruiting spreadsheet and resurrect this thread. We have some big dudes coming in including a goaltender that both Rose and Stoever can look up to. Breck McKinley's assists and Brody Water's all around scoring look interesting. Anybody have details on these two? McKinley's size and assist totals make me think of Kruse. JP, I know you subscribe to McMahon, any overall thoughts on this class?

He hasn't really blogged much this year about recruiting. Did question what made Bevilacqua fall off of Northeastern's radar since they were pretty high on him. Might end up being a steal for BG.

Added Pfoh, also created a recruiting grid. Would appreciate corrections as I'm not always clear on who is coming when.
I'm guessing Swankler and Malmstrom will not be returning next year but I left them in the grid for now. Also looks like there are portal opportunities next year for forwards.

Pitters, Rose, Coyle, and I believe Vinell all have their Covid year after this season.
I marked those guys with an asterisk but wasn't sure whether or not I should include them in next seasons roster. Not sure what the convention is on that one? I am also thinking Scardina and Fyten also have a covid year left, correct?

Scardina and Malmstrom should have 2 years of eligibility after this season. Fyten will get a redshirt for this season and have 3 seasons of eligibility remaining.
For now, I would include all seasons of eligibility. Malmstrom turned down an NHL contract to play this season, so you can't really predict what players are going to do. At this point, I think most teams are moving forward with replacing players out of eligibility with incoming freshman, and plugging early departure holes with the portal.
Picked up a new recruit. Nick O'Hanisain, defenseman. Had a cup of coffee in the BCHL, spent some time in the USHL, played in the NAHL this year as the team captain. Based on the '03 birthday I am assuming he's slated to arrive next season as that would get us to 8 d-men assuming Malmstrom is moving on. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/2 ... o-hanisain
As for the recruits, here's how they're doing. Brody Waters and Brandon Santa Juana are putting up some numbers. So is Breck McKinley as a defenseman. Stjernberg spends some time in the box.
