I still think $30 per month is a bit extreme, but I'll at least take the consistency.

$150 for a full year isn't all that unreasonable. If you only use it for hockey season, it's $30 a month. Average 3 away games a month and you're paying $10 a game. I'd agree with you if you had to select one team, and you could only watch their games.

It'll look a lot more reasonable if crowds aren't allowed in arenas this season.

nCCHA signs deal to have games on FloSports.

I will say I'm happy with this decision. Flo isn't perfect, but I've been watching dirt track racing for the past 2 months using the same subscription.

Actually, I have a subscription to watch college hockey. It just so happens to include dirt track racing. I mean, gotta have something to watch since our tractor pulls keep getting cancelled.

St. Thomas has been approved to go D1.

It's entirely possible they end up as the 8th CCHA team, or the WCHA adds them as they try to move forward, which is something Bill Robertson mentioned as a possibility during an interview I read the other day.

Alabama-Huntsville has officially removed the interim tag from Lance West's title and made him their official head coach. He was 11-22-3 in his lone season leading Fairbanks in 2017-2018, and he has been an assistant at UAH since then. It seemed like the likely hire they would make (he's an alumnus) so I'm sure they're fired up down there. He doesn't move the needle much for me, but I understand their desire to nail down a permanent HC going into this year of transition.

Also today, the NCAA approved new national OT rules: the 5-minute 5x5 OT is no more, as games will proceed directly to 3x3 OT and then a 3-man shootout when the first 60 minutes expire.

Cue the overtime bitching.

I'm surprised they didn't work a game of cornhole in there as one of the tie breakers.

I never minded ties. That was hockey.

I didn’t see any adjustments to the pairwise calculation. I understood that needed to be tweaked as part of this.

Agree. I'm fine with the change to the 3x3 OT, because it's fun to watch, but the shootout to determine a definitive winner seems a bit much. Ties are fine.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

How I understand it, there will still be ties after the 3x3 OT, and the shootout will come after to settle conference game disputes for the extra point.

St. Thomas is officially the 8th CCHA team. They will begin play with the rest of us in 2021-2022.
