Haha. So the Robert Morris game is postponed and Bowling Green has yet to say anything on the subject? What the hell? Why is Bowling Green opening camp this week? They don't play for nearly 2 months best case scenario.

Interesting. So perhaps the MAC is just waiting to officially make a decision that seems inevitable? I can see the logic.

I see our Robert Morris game is listed as postponed right now. (Perhaps RMU holds out hope of playing ball in the spring?) That means our first game is at home against Buffalo on Sept. 26. Perhaps we postpone that game, then postpone our game with Liberty on Oct. 3 if the MAC doesn't call off fall football before that.

(There is no school in Division I that I would less like to see Bowling Green playing in this pandemic than Liberty.)
My guess is the MAC is hoping to secure one of those non-conference games from the P5 conferences in hopes of trying to generate some sort of revenue. With the Big Ten not playing anyone OOC though, I fail to see how it is going to be done without needing to travel some distance.

The BG athletics site shows the game is still scheduled.

OK, I've seen some places saying it's postponed & others saying it is not. Who knows?

Sun Belt announced an 8-game in-conference scheduled beginning Labor Day weekend, and teams can schedule as many as four non-conference games, which seems like a pipe dream.

I suspect after the NCAA meeting that the MAC will convene and reset the schedule. Camp will press on because they can’t practice all day once school starts, regardless of when the first game is.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

Robert Morris picked up an OOC at Hawaii. Nice dream.

Yeah. This. But the MAC is going to play football because...well...because the kids are young, immune to "the flu," and if they don't play football they'll just go to a bar.

Edit: Nate Silver and crew don't think we're playing football either: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/wi ... r-through/" target="_blank

Let me be clear. For selfish reasons I want there to be football. BG hockey returns 80% of our scoring from last year. We have a VERY good team, one that has a legit shot at league hardware and the NCAA's. If we play football, we have a good chance at playing hockey. So I'm on your side. But it's not looking good.

Let’s check in on the former Boston College football coach, who was fired last offseason.

FWIW ... some CSU players are stepping up to say the above story is false.

UMass cannot be far behind. They too are independent and will have a scheduling problem. And also are in the northeast which has been hit hardest to date.

Big Ten released their schedule today. 10 game conference only schedule. Starting Labor Day weekend, with bye weeks built in. It is a pretty good plan.

And wow does Purdue have a tough start. @Michigan, Iowa, Ohio State, @Illinois, @Wisconsin. Taking away non conference games makes for a brutal start with no opportunity to fix problems that OOC teams expose.

I definitely see the season getting started. The question is what will the do when “outbreaks” start happening? Just hodgepodge the season or stop altogether?
