I wouldn't be surprised if they don't play an ooc schedule, but we'll see.

If you meant in person, the ticket person I talked to said there will be no single game tickets sold this year.

I meant virtually. But that's good to know. Seems like a safe enough venue where you could social distance.

By some accounts, OSU coach Chris Holtmann is right now trying to arrange a tournament in Columbus for later in November. This after the Buckeyes dropped out of the Crossover Tournament in S. Dakota they were originally scheduled to play in for 3 days, starting Nov. 25. They dropped out because Ohio requires people to quarantine for 2 weeks after returning from certain states, and S. Dakota is now on that list. If they had played, it would have meant cancelling something like 2-3 other non-conference games.

I'd love to see several teams, like BG, just come to Columbus for a few days and play some kind of round robin event. Even before the pandemic, I had hoped there would be an all Ohio tournament like this each year with variations of the many D-1 teams in the state. Unlike prior coaches, I know Holtmann would welcome this.

That has long been a frustration for me with OOC scheduling at BG and surrounding schools. Obviously OSU has always avoided playing in state opponents, I hope that does change under Holtmann. Beyond OSU I would love to see BG (and the other Ohio MAC schools) regularly getting games with Dayton, Xavier, Cincinnati, etc. I know many of them don't want to play against quality MAC opponents, but maybe the pandemic and travel restrictions can open up some of that.

It wasn't that long ago I remember sitting in St. John Arena and watching BG beat Ohio State in basketball 59-50. I had seats almost right behind the OSU bench and I'm sure I was annoying people by rooting for BG. There's no reason these games couldn't be put together very quickly. God knows there are a lot of hotel rooms available where they could keep teams isolated for a period of time, if they wanted to.

It looks like for the time being we're playing Appalachian st on November 30th. I believe their schedule is updated based on the small local teams on their schedule and no tournaments

I saw on the team's IG page that they played the Orange and Brown game. Not a lot of information:

Orange:
Matheny
Fulcher
Diggs
Plowden
Washington
Elsasser

Brown:

Fields
J. Turner
C. Turner
Young
Swingle
Watson

Apparently Orange won and Swingle led scorers with 18. I see Matiss didn't play. I don't know if he had surgery or what but he seems to be recovering from an injury. Nice to see Swingle played well with or without Matiss I think his ability to play big minutes and be effective are key to us having any sort of post-game this year.

By the way, Holtmann has already changed this philosophy for OSU: they played Cincinnati home-home the past two seasons. That was set up by Holtmann.

Reports in Columbus now say OSU is playing Illinois State on 11-25 as part of a tourney being set up at OSU. They would still need two more teams to do what they want (4 teams, 3 games in 3 days).

These things always interest me. Curious why they didn't stream it but not surprised. Zeigler didn't play either. If they tried to split up rosters I think you have Diggs and Plowden and Turner and Fields. Then probably Swingle or Washington.

If you project out your depth on this then
1-Fields-Matheny
2-Turner-Fulcher
3-Diggs-Turner
4-Plowden-Young
5-Swingle-Washington

3 Srs starting, 1 JR and 1 So. I think that Huger does like to go with veterans.

Would you possibly be able to link this one, Globe? Can’t imagine they will let fans attend but i am there if they do, assuming it’s @ WVU. And assuming single game tickets are sold. And assuming it’s late enough that i don’t have to leave work early if it’s a mid week game.

If every single thing goes right and falls into place, I will be there. :D
