This is my timelines for SL coming into this mess at BG:

Year 1: Honeymoon. Stop the bleeding, get your feet wet, not much of anything is expected, take what you can get.
Year 2: Show us something. Anything. Any sort of progress and player development is critical.
Year 3: Start ascending up the division. Get out of the basement and bottom half of the MAC East.
Year 4: Become a challenger in the division. This is clearly your program now, these are mainly all your recruits.
Year 5: Win the division. These are all your guys now. Your peers are Ohio, Buffalo, Miami, Kent State & Akron. Not OSU.
Year 6: Win the MACC. This is what you came here to do. You built this team and have had the time to do it.

I don't think this is an unreasonable time table. Obviously any positive production and results earlier would be better. But realistically, I don't think it's too much to expect, or to hope for, for that matter.
GO BG!!!

In what year does the quarterback fit into the equation? It is the most important position. With transfer rules the way they are, you should be able to find someone to make you competitive or be showing clear signs of development. Jinks, while totally clueless, understood that. Morgan took off and Doege played right away. I have no idea what this is, but we know McDonald can’t really run and with that throwing motion he will need the best OL in the MAC.

I’m willing to give him another pass for now.. though we all were anticipating the 2nd comIng of Brian McClure, truth is he hasn’t played in a competitive game in 2 yrs.
I get what you’re saying about his throwing motion, but we have a HC who has coached some pretty fair QBs in his time. Let’s at least wait a few games in this crazy season before we call anyone a washout.
Education our Challenge, Excellence our goal. (look it up)
