Once again, the Boston College ties from Kit Hughes played a huge part in this hire. The Boston College staff was fired 11 months later.

Can we stop the Loeffler hate for 2 seconds? He inherited a terrible situation- even worse than the situation that Jinks walked in on. He's recruited well, and he needs time to implement what he wants to do around here. He has said this numerous times in the past, and those within the athletic department understand that we're in for a long rebuild. As much as it sucks to lose, we can't keep acting like the sky is falling when we knew it was going to be bad in the first place.
We're lucky to even have a season at all. The wins and losses don't matter right now - we're at the point as a program where live game reps are the only thing that matters. These "games" are glorified scrimmages - chances for young guys to get practice against other colored uniforms, and that's about it. And when I say young guys, I'm not even talking about juniors that haven't played yet - I'm talking about the freshmen, redshirt freshmen, and sophomores that are seeing the field for the first time and trying to improve.
Just calm down and stop being a prisoner of the moment. It's clear you have some type of vendetta against someone in the program, and I think the rest of us are tired of it. Did Loeffler date your sister and dump her or something? If you don't want to root for the team, get off the board. Pretty sad that you bring nothing positive to any conversation we have here.
Was last night bad? Yes. Have the past 5 years been bad? Absolutely. But we have to stop with the overreacting and being stuck in the moment. If there's no optimism around the program from the fanbase, why would the team or coaches ever feel motivated to get better for us and for this university?

Now we are beyond "drinking the Kool-Aid". The team was embarrassing AGAIN last night. I will not apologize for asking for something more and I don't think it's appropriate to downplay the situation given our history.
We saw BG devalue a hockey program that was once a national power. There a lots of reasons why, but BG hockey is now playing home and homes with D3 Adrian, without a single "all D1 school" like us on the schedule. The MAC seems stable but BG football's fall to the bottom feels similar. I think it's completely appropriate to let the athletic department know how we feel.

You're gonna want to pump the brakes there. I suggest you go back and read more than just the Headline.DetroitFalcon wrote:

I mean, the current AD fired the previous one's head coach after basically everyone and their brother associated with Bowling Green wanted him to do so. Now we're going to lynch Moosbrugger because his guy can't field a competitive team amidst a massive program rebuild while just barely into his second year? These takes are simply ridiculous.DetroitFalcon wrote:Now we are beyond "drinking the Kool-Aid". The team was embarrassing AGAIN last night. The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.

The opposing coach Sean Lewis won't need 5 years to build a trash program at Kent St. He has done it in 26 games. Actually only took him about 15 games or so. He ran up 62 points on BGSU in years 2 & 3. He won a bowl game in year 2. He took over a dumpster fire of a program with much worse finances and facilities and turned it around much quicker. Ya, it can be done. It requires some urgency. It requires a culture where the administration doesn't basically promote a 5 year rebuild with a coach who has never been a head coach, or lasted anywhere for 5 years. Clawson, Clawson Clawson, it's not close to Clawson.
Re: All the candidates who were interested...
Bump...total incompetence in BGSU athletics...
Bowling Green was not interested in the former Florida coach McElwain, or the recruiting coordinator at Notre Dame Polian, who had been a head coach before. Instead, they had to have the Boston College offensive coordinator on a staff fired a year later.

I suggest you try to sit through one of our football games. It's not easy.

Did you read the part I quoted? Go figure out why D3 Adrian it's in this year's schedule. The athletic department did a better job putting together a schedule than most of the rest of the NCAA hockey teams.DetroitFalcon wrote:pdt1081 wrote:You're gonna want to pump the brakes there. Most impressive in the hire of Loeffler is how Bob Moosbrugger went about it. He hired and paid a search firm to find candidates, then listened to his assistant AD (Kingston’s guy) on whom to hire. (Boston College and Tom Brady connection) DeFilippo suggested atleast 2 better candidates in the initial candidate list. Bob and Rodney Rogers had no idea what to do. They wanted Clawson and got a guy who was about to be fired at Boston College. Then we got a staff of VanGorders and Morrison and guys Loeffler was being loyal to, either out of coaching or headed that direction. It’s not Clawson. It never was. I’m curious how many times Loeffler discussed the previous coaches in his interview.

Lol. No one else will play us. I have heard the rationale. It's not that impressive.pdt1081 wrote:Did you read the part I quoted? Go figure out why D3 Adrian it's in this year's schedule. And here is where you cherry pick your information. The NCHC and the Big (closest teams for travel) aren't playing games against other conferences, period. The travel budget is being used up by testing requirements (saw a figure yesterday that estimated about $7500 per week for a hockey team). They are also trying to eliminate as many hotel stays as possible to limit possible exposures. You really don't know what you think you know.DetroitFalcon wrote:
