HALFTIME:

Michigan leads 43-36.

Really a solid half. Some things to clean up, for sure, but we're in this thing.

And we see Zeb Jackson putting up a 3 for Mich after sitting in the Anderson Club a couple times a year throughout MS and most of HS.
I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.

It definitely hurt, but it's not like we had anything we could do. With Swingle in foul trouble and Kula out, the only other "tall" option was Washington.

I get it and you’re right, Matiss not suiting up is the most underrated disappointment of this game. But both of the Michigan centers can do whatever they want and a small ball lineup is not the answer. Even if they aren’t scoring, all 5 falcons seem like they’re collapsing on them underneath and leaving everyone else on Michigan wide open. If chandler turner is going to play, he’s gotta bang downlow. Sacrifice him defensively so plowden can get his offensively. If Washington isn’t in foul trouble he has to play. I like combating the size difference with a press, but it hasn’t turned into any turnovers. Dare i ask what do we all think of running a 2-3?

And swingle isn’t perfect by any stretch of the imagination but from a sheer need standpoint he has to play until he has 8 fouls in the 2nd half.

Swingle looks like he is in worse shape.

Swingle doesn't play like a D1 big man. Good lord.

Ah man just horrendous. Think I’ll just kick my feet up for the night. Really too bad, thought he might be out equalizer this game to help combat Michigan’s size.

When Gadsen left they should have offered a scholarship to anyone over 6-8 who wouldn't rock the boat for a year.

Zeigler just seems so incomplete.....there is always sparks of stuff but he doesn't seem to be polishing anything.

UNDER 12: BG is down 63-52. Still fighting, but this is teetering away from us at the moment.

Ultimate goal is the MAC title and i still think this team is the most talented overall in the conference. This one just hurts because I really don’t feel like the overall talent disparity is that large between us and Michigan. They’re bigger and hit wide open 3’s/layups.

Under 8, BG is down 71-59.

We just don't have the size to battle with them inside. That's ultimately what this comes down to. We need Swingle to stay out of foul trouble and for Kula to be back as soon as possible to reach our full potential.

Sloppy late. BG looks pretty gassed. Tough ask to open the season.

Trey Diggs has hit 4 threes in a row. We need to get him more involved offensively. He shouldn't be shooting off the bounce or creating his own shot, but he's electric as a catch-and-shoot guy.

I've been real impressed by that michigan team. I think we can be real good but missed too many good looks in the first half and just don't have the length to defend a team of UMs caliber. They're long and athletic and moving the ball very well.

Swingle...man. He looks really bad out there. That's not good with him being our only guy over 6'7 against aBig10 team. I think we'll play small (hope?) Most of the year, but we're in a bad place with Swingle playing a pure post role.

Michigan wins, 96-82.

Turner had a relatively inefficient (by his standards) 24 points on 9/24 from the field.

Plowden added 15 on 4/12 from the field. Diggs had 21 off the bench.

We were outmatched today, but it wasn't unexpected. Got some experience, and we have to learn from it. I saw some Michigan fans giving us respect online as a "really nice MAC squad" so that's the outside perspective on our first game. We'll bounce back on Saturday at the Stroh.

Have a great Thanksgiving, folks!
