BG has also offered Justice Bettis. He's a 6'6" wing out of Mount Miguel H.S. in Spring Valley, CA (San Diego area).
I saw that Bettis supposed offer on his Twitter and I have to think it is fake. He supposedly got umpteen offers form UCLA on down to division II schools all in the space of one or two days which just happened to coincide with his first Twitter posts. It might be related to some computer game though. Also, his name does not show up on verbal commitments.

I did some looking and I agree with you. Thanks.

The Early signing period starts this Wednesday. VerbalCommits shows 7 outstanding Offers as of today. My guess is that we will sign 1 or 2 less than our 4 open slots for next year. The extra year of eligibility for athletes throws the need at present for more players in limbo. Things should play out by Spring as to need and availability.

First day of the week long signing period ends and little action. In fact no action from BG. Only 11 players signed LOI in all of the MAC, That's about an average of one per team.

Interesting prospect. Listed as a PG/SG and he isn't playing PG here. Looks like a SF for us. Decent offensive game where he looks like he does the little stuff/smart stuff to score. Kinda reminds me of Scott Miller. Nothing special here, but could contribute down the road.

He is from the same HS as Matiss. Seems pretty middle of the road like the last guy. Good at everything but not one great skill.

This is the first guy I have really liked. Runs the floor exceptionally well. Gets after rebounds, has nice athleticism. A high floor, high ceiling guy.

Last but certainly the opposite of least. This guy has a huge upside. Can shoot, can attack the basket, is athletic and seems to have a huge ceiling if he could get more weight and comfortable with his body. AND two of our coaches recently followed him and we are his freshest offer. If we get someone from the group I hope it's him.

Guys we have shown interest in it seems

Darius Gaddy 6-9 275
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USSZdhQE8e8" target="_blank
Impossible not to like. Not sure how he fits exactly but could play tackle for the football team too. He moves very well for his body and has nice touch around the basket. This is the type of player I love to have on the team because no one on the other team would want to guard him (I also would hope that could be Swingle) but the negative is that he would probably have a mismatch on D

Kalil Camara 6-7
https://twitter.com/Kalilcamara18/statu ... 3829875712" target="_blank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2m3Yrgu ... e=youtu.be" target="_blank
Very good athlete, Would probably be a 2-3. 2 coaches following so I would assume we are hot on him too. Juco who would have 2 years of eligibility.
Length and shooting will always be welcome.

Donivan Peoples 6-6
https://twitter.com/leftyydon13/status/ ... 4406413318" target="_blank
Michigan guy who can shoot and is athletic. Shooting certainly seems to be criteria #1 for our coaches

Jermaine Goodwin 6-4
https://verbalcommits.com/players/jermaine-goodwyn" target="_blank
https://twitter.com/mooktheguy/status/1 ... 0091158530" target="_blank
Another prep school guy, doesn't have much in the way of offers but looks smooth and like he can shoot.

Phanor Faustin 6-10
https://twitter.com/CoachHolmes20/statu ... 6672329728" target="_blank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRZf9efjyVs" target="_blank
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7jNvKcLhWw" target="_blank
Very raw athletic big who is going prep as well. Athletic bigs that can defend and run the floor are hard to find.

Ajantae Hogan 6-4
https://twitter.com/AjantaeH/status/1242916394284593154" target="_blank
https://www.hudl.com/video/3/10554608/5 ... 0ae8432387" target="_blank

https://twitter.com/RL_Hoops/status/1224444559708409856" target="_blank
Looks athletic and very good all around. One of my favorites I have seen so far. He just seems like a

TJ Pugh 6-6
https://twitter.com/timothyjjames0/stat ... 4228666369" target="_blank
Likes like a smart and smooth offensive guy with limited athleticism. Just D2 offers at this point

Blaise Vespe 6-7
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L12T7bIymE" target="_blank
https://www.ngbball.com/basketball-roster/blaise-vespe/" target="_blank
Another shooter and flue guy. Not sure how he'd fit but next to 2 athletes could be a good 4.

EJ Farmer 6-4
https://www.cleveland.com/highschoolspo ... -tour.html" target="_blank
https://twitter.com/ej_farmer/status/13 ... 9334764544" target="_blank
https://twitter.com/NEO_Spotlight/statu ... 4648738816" target="_blank
Like this guy a lot too. Has older offers from Kent and OU. Athletic and can shoot

Gerald Doakes 6-4
4 star who went Juco after getting big time offers.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USPZ3GHn_Ko" target="_blank
He has best player on our team talent. Would be a huge get.

Dondre Watson 6-8
https://twitter.com/DreWatson5/status/1 ... 9149962242" target="_blank
Last one of my favorites. Looks like a special athlete for a big.

Well that was a slow signing period that expired yesterday. Another impact of 2020 Covid? All in all the whole MAC signed 15 players. Of course BG signed zero. In the MAC as a whole according to Verbal Commits there remains a total of 26 roster scholarships open. To me, I just do not know how the rosters are impacted by the extra year of eligibility and how eventually the numbers are impacted in 2021 and 2022 etc.

Just a guess, but if someone like JTurner is trying to go to the association, he's gone after this year because he can't afford to be a 24 year old rookie, and I assume the same will be true for most other 4th or 5th year seniors that might have a shot. Players trying to build for a solid European career might stick around an additional year.

Long story short, we'll have to replace at least Turner next year, so hopefully Huger & staff can find a good recruit, but I don't think they are necessarily behind peer programs right now.

I agree with this 100%. We have a scholarship available right now and up to 3 more with Plowden-Diggs and Turner.

I wouldn't be completely surprised if we have 2 NBAers on this roster. Plowden might be a little old but his game is still improving, he came in as an athlete mostly. He has top shelf athleticism and the NBA needs guys who just have roles. He doesn't need to score a point to be able to impact games and support teams stars.

I've been thinking the same thing about Plowden. He's nowhere near his ceiling.

I liked how JTurner mention how is working on finishing around the rim and improving his range. This will make him much more consistent.
