Overall thoughts

1. Swingle was pretty bad, just like last year. He played 7 minutes and had 4 fouls. When he wasn't fouling he was giving up points. He might be ok playing 7 minutes a night. I would bet that the coaches told him the number one thing he needed to do was not get in foul trouble too.

2. Washington is a capable second 5 who may have to play too much. He should start the second game.

3. Plowden's 15-7 is great, and we can expect more to come, sadly he may need to essentially play the 5 at times.

4. Justin Turner 24 pts is typical. I think we can expect him to average over 20 this year.

5. Fields is what he was last year, glue guy who can put in good minutes.

6. I had projected Metheny starting and I am glad to see it happen. I think he played very well and will only get better.

7. Diggs played 23 minutes and it seemed like too few.

8-10 Zeigler. Turner, Young.......Would love to hear people's takes on these 3. Combined with Fulcher and Mattis these are the wild cards.
Zeigler shows flashes but still seems super raw
Chandler is one of my favorites that also doesn't seem to put things together
Young's first game saw 4 fouls in 8 minutes but 4 rebounds too
Mattis gives us another big although typically not a banger, but he will stretch the floor for sure
Fulcher has been mentioned as our best recruit of last year.

Anyone know about the injuries to Fulcher and Matiss?

Just saw in the Washington Post of all places...Mattis injury, Josiah Disciplined.

Who covers the team now for the Blade, BG local paper and BG campus paper? I want to follow them on twitter.

Here was a shocker to me. U of M beat Oakland on Sunday but the game went to OT. This was Oakland's 4th game in 5 days and they had been killed previously falling to Xavier by 52, to Toledo by 27 and to Bradley. by 14.

I saw that too. Super weird weekend, with a ton of ranked teams falling. I guess that' just how things are with this COVID season - unpredictable.

Ranked teams that lost from Wednesday through Sunday:

#3 Villanova
#4 Virginia
#6 Kansas
#10 Kentucky
#14 Texas Tech
#18 Arizona State
#22 UCLA
