Mid-season xfers, Ivy league

Loving the discussion on bigs and the team structure currently. I think it's pretty evident that this roster could use another Big. I am not sure if that will be Matiss or not but it's possible. It's nearly impossible to get players midseason but I started looking to see if any midseason transfers had yet to find a home and if that person could assist at team that will likely be in the running for the MAC. That investigation turned up little but I did bump into another potential option. The Ivy league isn't playing this year so it's possible that those players could transfer and play immediately (at least I haven't bumped into a formal ruling on this yet). He blocks about 1 shot per game in very limited minutes. There probably are and will be more but I didn't find anyone I thought fit what we needed.

It’s crazy how much turnover the Ivies have. I also agree Atkinson would be great...but assuming he’s a grad transfer, and the fact he chose Yale over a ton of better programs, tells me academics is very important to him. Like all of us, I love BG and am proud to have a degree from the school, but unless the dude is looking at a really specific Grad program, it’ll be tough to compete. He also raised his prospect status immensely since stepping foot in New Haven, having been named conference POY last year. That said, BG did offer him out of high school, so who knows...

Like all of us, I love BG and am proud to have a degree from the school, but unless the dude is looking at a really specific Grad program, it’ll be tough to compete. Having gone through a few grad programs, it’s pretty hard to imagine an athlete would have the time for either his/her sport or the academic work. One or the other, but making it work for both has to be a bitch.

I don't imagine that many of them are seriously pursuing a masters degree. It's just a year to play ball.
