BG @ NKU

Post by BillyLP »

On ESPN+ right now.

Looking good right now in the second quarter. A significant improvement in defense this year, and this freshman class looks legit. Reminds me of the freshman class with Prochaska. Currently up 24-13 with 4 minutes left in the half.

34-20 at halftime. Solid effort so far against a pretty veteran team that won 20 games last year.

63-49 win that was never really in question. Great job by the women today!

It would make me very happy if this program got good again. I come from a small town (Archbold) that had a good girls basketball program, and it was fun to watch them succeed. Would love nothing more than for BG women's basketball to return to glory.

Based on the parts of two games I've watched, this is certainly the most talented team and definitely the most hustling team they've had on the floor during Fralick's 2+ years. The MAC is a way better conference than it was during the Miller years, but I think BG will improve their standing this season.

Also, freshman Kenzie Lewis had 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 9 (!!!) steals. Fellow freshman Lexie Fleming led with 13 points after dropping 24 in her first game. This is a legit class that will turn BG back into a winner.

It's certainly looking very promising. Some wondered why things did not turn around a bit faster with Fralick, but I think it has taken her this long to weed out players who didn't fit her system (or they didn't really want to be at BG, anymore) and to start stacking the roster with the type of talent she is most comfortable with when putting a team together. She certainly had a great pedigree coming to BG, so I'm happy to see some clear signs that the program is headed in the right direction again.
