Interestingly, it happened once Swingle came off the floor. Maybe not having that big body in there clogging the lane had something to do with it?Globetrotter wrote:That was a ridiculous run. Huger teams always play to their competition.

He's not ever going to be our leading scorer, but Caleb Fields is really turning into a pretty good basketball player. His perimeter defense has been solid for a while, and now his offense is starting to come along nicely, too. He had that clutch 3 the other night against App State, and he's looked good on that end tonight, too. Really like what he brings to this team.

We let them shoot 48.5% from the field in the 1st half. That is terrible against a D2 team.
Re: vs. Purdue University Northwest (12/3)
Team defense as a whole needs to be more consistent. We flash some potential (latest example was the shot clock violation forced near the end of the half) but we also have some really bad possessions, too. Need to be more consistent to win at the level this team could/should.Diemilkweed wrote:We let them shoot 48.5% from the field in the 1st half. That is terrible against a D2 team.
Bad news? MAC play starts Sunday. Good news? We're still a ways away from March.

Do you think Swingle can dunk?
Re: vs. Purdue University Northwest (12/3)
Under 16 in the 2nd half, BG leads 51-38. Much better start to the half, which seems to be a trend with this squad.
We play better defense when we play harder. Wild concept, I know.

Re: vs. Purdue University Northwest (12/3)
I've seen Swingle fumble two passes. One was simply to high for him. Maybe it shouldn't have been, but it was. THe other was right in his torso - but he was reaching UP to show readiness to receive the pass.
Maybe he's got bad hands. Maybe we need ot put the ball where he can actually catch it .
Lock him in a room with a trainer for a month and get him lighter and teach him to catch.

Up 17, Swingle leaves teh game. Let's see what happens.

Lead may not change much, but we gave up points in the paint on the first 4 possessions he was out for, defensively.Diemilkweed wrote:Up 17, Swingle leaves teh game. Let's see what happens.

Huger should call a timeout and offer 33 a scholarship.
