vs. Purdue University Northwest (12/3)

And another easy basket in the paint without Swingle out there. That's at least 5 in the past few minutes.

36 of 50 points in the paint for them.
Re: vs. Purdue University Northwest (12/3)
A huge portion of that has come in 2 separate runs with Swingle off the floor.Globetrotter wrote:36 of 50 points in the paint for them.
As much crap as he gets, I think he's super important to our interior defense. Even just having a big body inside makes a huge difference for us, even if he isn't some freaky athletic shot blocker.

I think this guy is eligible immediately and transferring. Not a stud but can block shots.
A distant backup plan who certainly isn't a complete player but could add something is available.

Can this happen? I mean not that early but what are the transfer rules from a school like them?Hammer wrote:Huger should call a timeout and offer 33 a scholarship.

Theoretically, a D2 kid could transfer to D1 and be eligible immediately in a normal year, if they were never originally offered by the school.Globetrotter wrote:Can this happen? I've been reading that there could be an automatic approval of every petition this year, so theoretically we could add someone at any time.
However, with us already being in-season, I kinda doubt that we're looking to add anybody. Huger's staff is almost certainly on the guys he has, and there wouldn't be much time to recruit during the season. Also, with recruiting and official visits still not allowed due to COVID, I don't think we'd be able to reasonably get someone to commit to coming here without visiting the place, so I'd assume the last scholarship goes unused/given to a walk-on again.

FINAL: Falcons win, 88-67.
As a team, we shot nearly 50% from the floor. Juice led the way with 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Metheny poured in 15 on 4/6 from deep. Diggs dropped 14 and Washington added 8 - both off the bench.
Overall, it was just an okay performance. We never trailed, and we led by as much as 24 at one point. Still growing - have to be more consistent as the season progresses.
On to Buffalo.

My rankings of the 4 guys outside of the top 6 rotation and ignoring Washington and Mattis ismbenecke wrote:Chandler Turner sighting.
Fulcher
Chandler Turner
Zeigler
Cam Young
I have zero understanding of why Turner isn't playing....Put him at C for gosh sakes and let him struggle there for some run.
I hate that we constantly play down to our competition.
The rotation should be
Metheny-Turner-Fields-Zeigler
Fields-Fulcher
Turner-Diggs
Plowden-Turner-Young
Swingle-Washington-Turner-Young

On Chandler - he def looked thicker than last year. Is that "growing and doing college workouts" thickness, or "look how lazy I got over covid" thickness?
Or am I just wrong?

There has to be something there as to why he doesn't play. He was highly touted as a recruit and looks as though Cam Young has passed him in the eyes of the coaching staff. I can't imagine he sticks around past this season, these days kids don't sit for two years. Especially with the possibility that J Turner (probably not) and Plowden (more likely) could both return next season.Diemilkweed wrote:On Chandler - he def looked thicker than last year. This kind of thing would be cool but I extremely unlikely. At least Matiss could fill the role of that midseason post transfer. I worry about his legs though, I believe it was his frosh year when he returned from injury his shot just wasn't there and he looked slow on the floor. With his athleticism and ability to shoot the 3 they could run the smaller lineups they seem to like with keeping some semblance of post defense.Globetrotter wrote:I think this guy is eligible immediately and transferring. You are right, it's probably just Matiss, But he isn't a rim protector. I would love for us to think outside the box.JohnFloyd4Life wrote:This kind of thing would be cool but I extremely unlikely.
