FINAL: BG 86, Buffalo 78

Justin Turner had an unreal 2nd half, finishing the game with 33 points. Just an amazing effort, going 15/15 from the stripe.

1-0 in MAC play. Exactly where we wanted to be.

Hard to under-estimate just how important it was that they get off to a fast start, especially with this game at home.

Great win in what was a pretty good game throughout (minus all the fouls). If this team hopes to win the MAC Tournament to get to the NCAA Tournament, these are the types and kinds of games they're going to have to consistently win when it counts. This could have turned into a loss, but they dug down and found a way to get it done.

Justin Turner scored 20 in the last 7 minutes, including 13 of our last 14 points. He’s so incredibly clutch. Wow.

Juice was like an NBA superstar down the stretch today...we've seen it before. We cleared the floor for him, letting him go ISO and he was simply great. Of course none of it matters if we couldn't get stops and the small lineup on the floor did a fantastic job. Fields-Turner-Fulcher-Diggs-Plowden they were able to get hands on a lot of balls down the stretch and were able to avoid fouling with a crew that was whistling almost anything all game long.

If Diggs can continue playing competent defense like he did today he's got a chance to be an all Mac player. His offensive game is there if we can keep him on the floor without getting burnt on the other end.

I really like fulcher and Matheny from the newcomers.

This team has a chance to be the best in 20yrs here

Unbelievable defensive effort from Fulcher down the stretch. 3 straight possessions he shut down Segu AND grabbed the defensive rebound. I'd say huge future for the kid but his time is NOW!

Can't wait to add Mattiss. Love that we are getting minutes here and there for Zeigler-Turner and Young. All have shown flashes. Fun Young bunch off the bench.

I have been watching BGUS basketball since 1976. I cannot ever recall having 3 true freshmen as good as Matheny, Fulcher and Young (that's the name of my next law firm).

Matheny's offense is already starter level. When his handles tighten up and he learns to not get burned by quick fakes from upperclassmen on defense, he's going to be really special.

Young keeps surprising me. I think the kid is a small forward, and he comes in and plays competent center, can hit shots, has some semblance of handles and plays defense.

And Fulcher just looks f-ing competent out there. I have never seen us make offense for defense substitutions and had a freshmen on both ends of that. Fulcher messed Segu up badly, and Segu was destroying Matheny and Fields all night. And I NEVER thought I would see that type of rebounding out of him.

These three guys are going to be really special for this program.

80.8% on FT for the season. I can't believe how enjoyable it is rooting for a team that can hit its free throws. 38.1% from three is nice as well.

This may be the most talented and deep roster since the days of Colin Irish, David Jenkins, Marcus Newburn, David Greer, etc. That was back when John Weinart could recruit.

The 3 Freshman and Zeigler are all raw but have best player on the team time flashes. If they develop in season we are going to be very good.....If we can get some quality big man play.

I was a junior falcon David Greer's senior year :)

Broke my hand before the season ended and couldn't do the last 6 games or so and the tourney.

OU bringing their f-ing BAND to the final and displacing a couple hundred of our students from the student section pisses me off to this day.

We 100% should have gone to the NCAA that year.

Fulcher-Zeigler and Young are a combined 1-13 from three. In fact everyone but the top 5 in minutes are 1-16 from three. Interesting stat.
