This is the first guy I have really liked. Runs the floor exceptionally well. Gets after rebounds, has nice athleticism. A high floor, high ceiling guy.

Some details

Looks like has a 4.0. Reminds me a lot of Plowden. A little bigger and maybe not the same level of athlete. A very good rebounder. 205 already.

Boring workout video

Here is something interesting. He isn't even listed as a top player in his conference
https://www.arkansasonline.com/news/202 ... w-capsule/" target="_blank

And he will likely play next to a better C in HS than he will in college.

That kid gets off the floor like lightning and has a good touch around the basket. Handles are shakey. Looks like a good get with a high ceiling.

Etim is official, which I thought we had to wait on that.

I liked that video. Lots of energy, runs the floor well. But lots of guys do that. The things I saw that seriously intrigued me:

1) Closeouts on perimeter defense. He not only tries, but he gets there to disrupt shots.

2) Finds seams in the defense. More than simply running the floor, he found empty spots to be in so his guards could find him.

3) Can catch a post entry pass. of course, it looked like the passes he was receiving were better than the ones our guards typically throw.

4) Finds seams between players for offensive rebounds. This one will be much harder to translate at our level where people actually box out. But if he can do that 2-3 times a game, that would be a nice big bonus.

Love the take. Thanks.

Would love to sign either Watson or Hill and then a guard.

Finally watched the videos on Hill.

Some good, some bad. His jumper has a nice stroke, but his feet are inconsistent between 45 and 60 degrees off line of the target. That's going to lead to low %.

He got a little pumped a couple times, but only a couple. He did a number of pretty good plays - like out let passes and strong rebounds - and simply KEPT PLAYING instead of celebrating like a mad man. I don't know if this is great composure (PLEASE!!!!), serious focus (AWESOME!!!), or a kind of low motor and just not really caring that much (OHGODNO).

Doesn't seem to carry himself like he cares about being the spotlight of the action or anything. And doesn't try to do big risky flashy moves when a simple layup will do. Good for finishing moves successfully and staying injury free.

All from 3 minutes of video highlights.

ESPN needs to hire me :P

OTOH - not one highlight of Watson passing the ball. It's all shooting, dunking, and blocking. Celebrations after everything no matter how normal. Including flexing and mugging for the camera after an (admittedly nice) warm up dunk.

I'd rather have the guy who doesn't know/care that there is a camera around than the guy who always knows exactly where it is.

Which helps explain why nobody pays me money for any of this.

Often I will watch a video and say "That guy is a stud, he must be a headache if he isn't signed anywhere."

Could be the case here.

Who knows what his deal is, though. Could be grades. Or, maybe he's taking his time deciding.

Another thing - he probably didn't determine which plays were in the video and which weren't. Shrug.

Jumping back in.

Most likely roster
1 Metheny-2
2 Fields-4
3 Fulcher-2--Turner-3
4 Young-2--Etim-1
5 Washington--Swingle 3

Mattis is a huge question mark due to injury,

We have 5 offers out
https://www.verbalcommits.com/schools/bowling-green

Christian Guess is transferring from Samford. He was a stud at Shaker Hts and put up great numbers at Samford https://www.verbalcommits.com/players/christian-guess

Braelen Bridges is a transfer from UIC we seem high on https://www.verbalcommits.com/players/braelen-bridges
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-baske ... en-bridges

Kalil Camara is a Juco guy we were interested in before https://www.verbalcommits.com/players/kalil-camara

Jared Kimbrough is transferring from LaSalle https://www.verbalcommits.com/players/jared-kimbrough

I was wondering if any of the seniors would return for the extra year. Juice is likely 100% gone. Plowden can probably earn money in the G-League or Europe/Asia/Australia but Diggs might be interested in a year as a starter.

I think Diggs has a healthy European career ahead of him, so I'd be more surprised to see him come back than Plowden, personally. If I'm betting, I think Juice and Diggs will go pro, and Plowden may do a grad transfer to a bigger school to build the resume.
