@ Quinnipiac (12/18-12/19)
Re: @ Quinnipiac (12/18-12/19)
Falcons win, 4-2!
Kruse with the game-tying goal with 6 minutes left, Ford with the go-ahead with less than 2 to play, and Theocharidis with the empty netter to cap it off.
This team feels special. At 8-1-0, they have a chance to be. Let’s have a great Christmas and then keep it rolling in the second half of the season.

Huge weekend. With no Pairwise these wins will do a ton to help come tournament time.

Watch on ESPN anD it’s the first time I’ve seen this team play. The team speed was remarkable. It reminds me if the teams back in the late 80s with Emerson, Blake, Potvin, Maia, Truck.
I think some kid named Eigner had a few minutes on those teams too.
Awesome weekend.

What do you think of the elbowing penalty?

On my small iPad and below average eyesight it looked like a good call - elbow to chin. I could be biased though.BG84 wrote:What do you think of the elbowing penalty?

The elbow was up, but, like the TV guys, I'm not sure there was contact. Looked like he caught Schneider 's leg and spun him around.

Officials trying to make a call in real time. It's tough. Makes hockey arguably the hardest sport to officiate. Even still, the QU player slew footed Schneider. Replay was close and even hard to tell on my 65" OLED TV.BG84 wrote:What do you think of the elbowing penalty?

Contact or not, the guy targeted the head. 2 minutes, good call. He actually makes contact and it's an extra game or two.BG84 wrote:The elbow was up, but, like the TV guys, I'm not sure there was contact. Looked like he caught Schneider 's leg and spun him around.

How is the committee choosing teams this year without pairwise? I figured they were doing something different since rpi wont be official this year but never heard whatjpfalcon09 wrote:Huge weekend. With no Pairwise these wins will do a ton to help come tournament time.

When was the last time we started a season 8-1 or better?
Re: @ Quinnipiac (12/18-12/19)
From what I can tell, this is the best start since 1987.kdog27 wrote:When was the last time we started a season 8-1 or better?
That team won 33 games, won the CCHA regular season title, and qualified for the NCAA tournament, losing in the first round against Harvard.

Thanks. I’d take most of that history again.

I took another look on the 55” frame by frame. I’m not 100% on whether there was contact but I’m !00% sure the QU player tried. The was definite upward movement with the left arm and lead with the elbow. That’s what the ref saw.BG84 wrote:What do you think of the elbowing penalty?
In the heat of battle, it was a reasonable call.

If it had said "Craggs" on the back of his jersey it would have been called a 5 and a gameRightupinthere wrote:I took another look on the 55” frame by frame. Eye test. BG was one of the most aggressive schools with non-conference scheduling. They'll probably go off the USA Hockey poll at the end of the year sans auto bids for league winners.fanatic13 wrote:How is the committee choosing teams this year without pairwise?
