Transfers
Re: Transfers
Probably was expected Massey in the portal
Re: Transfers
Not surprised with the suspension, but still disappointing. I thought he had incredible, pure talent, but it seemed like he was either undisciplined or uninterested a lot of the time. Best of luck to him in his future.

Dylan Pate is in the portal. Redshirt freshman DB. I don't believe he played at all, but maybe on special teams a little?

Re: Transfers
As expected Isaiah Johnson-Mack in portal
Re: Transfers
What a total waste of his talent and ability while at BG. We completely misused him. His off the field issue late in the season wasn't the crime in this case.
GO BG!!!
Re: Transfers
In a Covid year losing nearly every game by 40 pts, BGSU Football pointed to weed to find an excuse. Zero Covid test results went public, multiple drug tests made it to Jordan Strack You just have to love the “cover your own ass at all costs” leadership at BGSU. Bold strategy thus far.
Three years ago Bowling Green couldn’t wait to get these Texas kids to Bowling Green. It was a recruiting gold. 13 losses later we need more NW Ohio players. The single constant is horrible quarterback play now with a coach whose specialty is quarterbacks.

Re: Transfers
Bryson Denley is officially leaving the program.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
Re: Transfers
It sure would be nice to hit the transfer portal to get some positive use out of it for a change. This will probably be the most chaotic year of transfers ever. Coaching staff should take advantage and bring in some quality players from established programs with a culture similar to what Loeffler envisions.
I seem to remember we had a DB transfer from Notre Dame in 2010 or so. To provide leadership. Not sure how productive he was on the field but as a mentor to the young players and an example of an established positive culture, that was a major positive.
It would be a major shame with all these outgoing transfers to not take advantage.

Re: Transfers
Unless Loeffler completely changes course I don't expect active recruiting in the portal until there are limited needs. Additionally, with the current state of the program it's going to be difficult to get quality so why go there?
I don't understand this infatuation with BG making themselves look good rather than bad in their press releases. The bad has been the game results so everything else is going to be positive. That's how you get support from boosters, recruits giving you a chance and assistant coach candidates to all invest themselves in the program. Why would the the athletic department do anything else?

I proudly chose to be a Falcon and a Falcon I will remain until the end.
Re: Transfers
LaBronz Davis is in the portal. I wouldn't necessarily call this surprising, because he wasn't a scholarship guy (to my knowledge, anyway) and he was obviously never going to play here, with Keller and Melton younger than him and pretty clearly the future of the program at the position.
I wish him the best.

Re: Transfers
Seems like a good kid, but correct. He was a backup by necessity this season and was likely to be 4th or 5th string next season. Best of luck to him in his future!mbenecke wrote: ↑Wed Jan 06, 2021 11:35 am LaBronz Davis is in the portal. Diata Burns withdrew himself from the transfer portal, and he’s returning to BG next season.

Re: Transfers
Good news. Hopefully because they found a schollie for him and not because he didn’t get any offers.

LaBronz Davis is also returning to BG after he withdrew himself from the transfer portal.

Re: Transfers
I'd guess one reason for the reversals is due to Covid and not being able to travel to visit other schools. Same reasons Justin Turner (BBall) chose to stay. Tough to commit to leaving when you can't physically see the destination, players and coaches you are moving to.
