Trey Diggs
Trey Diggs
I've been meaning to post this for awhile and this is long overdue, but I gotta give this dude a big-time shoutout. He can flat out shoot the three as good - or better than - pretty much anyone I have seen shoot the three for BG since I've been following BG hoops going back to the 1990's. There's been many years where we had no real threats or options from distance, but not with him. And when he's on the floor, he's usually the best shooter on the floor for either team. He's become very consistent from three and honestly, when he pulls up, I almost expect every shot to go in anymore. And I love the fact that he's taken the long road and bet on himself to be in the position he's in now. I really love what he brings to this team and program. Hats off to him man.
GO BG!!!
Re: Trey Diggs
Man you can’t scare me like that. I thought something bad happened.
But yes, I agree. Diggs is an incredibly important part of this team.

Re: Trey Diggs
Beyond the shooting - he now takes charges, brings the ball up the court (did a bit last year, but more now), and he's starting to take and hit turn around fade away jumpers in the lane.
Just a BIG jump in skill level in 1 year.
And while we are here - Plowden and Turner hit that same turn around J against CMU. I remember the first time Anthony Stacey hit one of those. I was stunned. Had been watching BGSU ball for 20 years at that point and we never had someone who could do that.
Now, we have THREE guys who just did that in a game.
I really hope this is a sign of future development ability by this staff.

I'm a HUGE fan of Trey Diggs. I was a huge fan of him last year. He can do SO much on offense. We mostly just asked him to spot up and shoot 3s last year, but still he showed several times an ability to make cuts to the basket and finish at the rim. He also showed ability as a mid range shooter. He's a flat out scorer and seems to have all around great instincts as an offensive player. The issue last year was many times he was super streaky as a shooter, and even on his good days he might give up as many points on defense as he scored. Then there were other games where he really struggled shooting, and then he was a big negative with his defensive issues.
I said early on this year that it looked like Trey had improved defensively and if he was just good enough to hold his own on defense he is an All MAC player. He'll put up good scoring numbers all year long if he can play the minutes, and looks like he's done just that. He's been making some big strides on the glass, he is playing competent defense, and to top it all off his shooting looks even better than it did last year. Like you said, I just expect every shot he takes to be nothing but net. He is so pure as a scorer.
Honestly, I think we have 3 all MAC guys playing in this rotation, and I wouldn't be stunned to see any of the 3 (probably not all of them) end up as first team all MAC.

Re: Trey Diggs
Diggs' presence is what I think puts us over the top as the main MAC championship contender.
This is a special team we have this year.
Swingle is getting visibly better in each outing.

Re: Trey Diggs
Trey has been much improved on both sides of the ball. He can flat out score in any given situation and has shown a nice touch inside especially for a "shooter". I wish I knew how many charges he has taken this year because I think he might be in double digits now since I think he had 3 in one game earlier. However he hasn't played a lot recently and I would like a few more minutes for him
