We were outplayed from the start of the second period on. Bemidji worked harder and deserved the win. We need to learn a lesson from this game so that it doesn't happen again.

Brutal loss. BG played possibly their worst hockey of the year this weekend. Could have easily lost last night too.

Brutal way to lose. Didn’t even get to touch the puck in OT.

Gotta bounce back next week.
BSU got 2 points, BG gets the loser point. New rules with blanket 3-on-3 across college hockey.

Well, this definitely helps me feel better about last night. I had figured that the extra point wouldn’t come into play until after OT (before the shootout) but I’m happy to be wrong about that.

I’ll take 10/12 to start. Need to keep pushing forward. Now for a few weeks of non-conference games against WCHA teams before league play starts up again at the end of January with Tech.

You tend to not look as good when you aren’t playing teams that are short on skill...racking up W’s against Atlantic Hockey teams and Ferris State are good, but you tend to get a false sense of your own team.
Like I said previously the sweep at Qpac was impressive, but I’m not even sure how good they are this year. They haven’t beaten anyone but AIC, if you consider that a quality win?
Interesting stretch coming up to see if the team can improve and make a run at a conference championship.

Absolutely. Had a strong finish to the first, but basically played even for the first 16 minutes of that period, then we were on our heels the rest of the game, giving up 2 early ones in the 2nd and then the race was on.

Gotta bounce back. I trust this staff and senior group to get the ship righted for next weekend (Monday is fairly meaningless, but you want to score more than the other team every time you step on the ice).

Hockey is a sport where no one will win them all. Bad games will happen. This is still a historically great start.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Agreed. Going into the series I said I would be happy with a split. I'm even happier for 4/6 points.
