vs. NMU (1/15-1/16)
Re: vs. NMU (1/15-1/16)
GOAL! After being down on the ice after a hard hit a few minutes ago, Max Johnson adds a tally for our Falcons.
BG now leads 5-2, with about 11 to play in regulation.

Side note, I love when they show the games on the local PBS. Nice to watch the game and be able to cheer from home.

Will Cullen totally undresses Hawthorne and BG now leads 6-2 with about 6 minutes remaining in the 3rd period.

That one should be on SportsCenter.

I really wish this one counted as a league series. Would've loved to add 6 more points to our tally in the standings. Gonna be hard to match this performance in Marquette next month.

FALCONS WIN, 6-2! Another sweep gets our boys to 14-2-0 on the season. A road trip to Bemidji (non-conference) is up next on a short week.

Compared to crap that wasn't called, yes. Extremely weak. Like, if you were to build a skyscraper out of Jell-O, that call is weaker than that.mbenecke wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 8:53 pmThat's a pretty weak call, right? I mean, I'm no hockey savant, but I see shoulder to shoulder.BGDrew wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 8:46 pm Here’s video of the Dougherty hit that drew the penalty. https://youtu.be/ZvgOqoR0-uU

Was that Gould on the ice in a cast for the 1000th win picture?TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 7:45 pm Looks like Gould may have hurt his shoulder. Anybody else see that?

I believe it was Gavin wearing a sling type of thing, I could be wrong, but that was my observation.pdt1081 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 9:43 pmWas that Gould on the ice in a cast for the 1000th win picture?TalonsUpPuckDown wrote: ↑Sat Jan 16, 2021 7:45 pm Looks like Gould may have hurt his shoulder. Gould went out hurt in the second period.

With that win, not only has BG played the most games in the NCAA this season, they currently own the highest winning percentage, have 3 players in the top 10 for points, and have the top 4 in +/-.

And don't look now, but Cameron Wright is sitting at 91 points for the year...

That is as a bad an NMU team I’ve seen in about a decade. Slow and didn’t compete like they normally do. The encouraging sign is BG smoked them. With no pairwise and the schedule BG is playing they are a lock at this point...they keep winning and they’ll be a 2 seed at least.
