I also think we are sorely missing Mattos and Mattis. Too bad Zieglar gave up on us too. I think he would have been an asset as a slasher to the bucket and defender but not as a point guard.
CTurner has some length, and we were badly missing that with Washington not available.

Folks, remember, we were supposed to have 6-9 Matiss Kulockoviskis this year. He would be making a tremendous difference.

Zeigler's perimeter defense would help us as well.

Relying on a player that has a history of injury as your only hope for a capable big could not have been the strategy could it?

Have we ever heard why Ziegler left? He had a lot of unreached potential.

While I agree both players could be helping us right now, let’s not forget they were both very limited in what they do. MK could stretch the floor when knocking down his shot, but that wasn’t always a given. He is also nowhere near a presence in the paint despite his height, and isn’t a good defender, especially on athletic guys his size. Zeigler is very athletic, and his best asset was pressuring the ball and he could move well on the perimeter. However, he couldn’t shoot from the perimeter, particularly from three, and if it wasn’t an uncontested layup, he struggled to score. Teams knew he wasn’t a shooter or a scorer, so on offense he hampered us as teams didn’t have to adjust.

So yes, both guys could be helping us in situational spots, but their overall impact was marginal at best. They’re not the reasons for our struggles, we’d be in the same place as we are now with them.

At least according to the stat sheet.

They shot 59% from the floor. 48% from 3. 20 assists to our 9. They only had 9 turnovers.

We gave them a better than 2 : assist to TO ratio, let them shoot damn near 60% from the floor.

We took 29 FT to their 14 and still got our asses kicked because we let them do anything they wanted on offense all game long.

This is STILL on the coaching staff. Why have we been flat as hell 3 of th elast 4 games? Why has our offense been off even longer than that? Why do we not know how to pass out of a double team when the hedge teh screen super high like EVERY SINGLE TEAM does to us?
There is a popular saying in college basketball that goes, “you can’t win a game in the first 10 minutes of the contest, but you can lose it there.” That rang particularly true in this one. We lost this game in the first 10 minutes. It just took another 30 minutes to make it official.
