BG takes a timeout in the middle of some Fulcher free throws, but we're now down 7 with 43 seconds to play. It's going to be our third straight loss and 4th in our last 5 games.

This was a better effort tonight than the prior losses, but it wasn't enough to get it done against a solid team. There's still work to do, and we need to win on Saturday. That's become an absolute must-win game.

We better learn to play some D soon....or we aren't going anywhere in the tourney. The team has been disappointing...

BG gets a break when a Kent player misses a wide open layup, but Fulcher forces a weird stepback at the other end (which would've cut it to 2) and misses.

Hands down we have the worst coach in the league. What a joke.

BG is down 5 with 9 seconds to play.

Offense seems mostly fixed, but it's hard to win when you give up 90+ points.

Could the unanimous pick to the win the MAC be nearly mathematically eliminated from the regular season title by Saturday night? Maybe Moose should have seen more urgency prior to the 90k a year raise.

FINAL: BG loses once again, 96-91.

Still something like 4th in the MAC, but this isn't going to cut it. Not this year.

Beat Toledo on Saturday... or else.

You know, if you told me before the season started that Swing would make 0 progress and we would lose 4 other players to injury / leaving the team....

I'd be OK with a close loss.

Considering who we have left, the only reason we were in the game is because Fulcher exploded.

I actually think getting coached like "s**t" would be an improvement.

There aren't very many of us who follow BG basketball that are surprised by this turn of events. Most of us did not favor extending Huger, but realized it probably was necessary for recruiting if they weren't going to make a change. But if BG truly wants its program to take that next step, they'll need to find a better coach. If they are happy with mediocrity, then Huger is your guy.

What Huger actually needs is to be criticized. Criticized for not seeking transfers (when transfer rules went out the window with Covid). Criticized for how last season ended. Instead, he was reading Twitter and how the metrics said BG was ranked high in the luck category of KenPom, and the program wasn't getting the credit it deserved. Bowling Green was an underdog to Toledo before the tournament was cancelled. He should have been criticized for whatever the hell happened with Dylan Frye in his senior season. We did get Steve Watson, Loyola AD's kid on the team to go along with Elsasser. Yippee

Let’s face it, BG has never gone anywhere in the tournament. The MAC Tournament has been played for over 40 years. BG still remains the only team to never have won it. Others have won it as many as 6 and 7 times. It’s partly why many people never take BG hoops seriously. We’re not even relevant in our own conference.

We never will be relevant with this coach. It kind of sucks to bash him because he seems like a great guy and loves Bowling Green. He however will never take us to where we need. His style of basketball simply isn’t relevant in this age. You need a handful of long athletic guys that can shoot a three. A big lumbering center who can’t move his feet isn’t going to cut it. His teams routinely don’t bring enough energy which starts with him. To top it all off his rotations and in game coaching is deplorable. His coaching of the last two minutes tonight tells you all you need to know.

Unfortunately I think this is what we get. We have to win in spite of him. BG is a second class athletic school with very limited funds and will continue to be. The Frack money has been squandered. We have to get lucky and somehow find a super star. These three freshman look good. Maybe they will be fun to watch.

We just had the worst football season maybe ever in the history of college football. We are in the middle of a pandemic that will deplete funds. The state government has been depleting funds from universities for years and they will lose funds otherwise. It's a time going to be a mess and we won't fire a coach that wins around 20 games in the middle of a mess.

The energy, offensive system and game planning have always been bad.

They won’t fire Huger. For multiple reasons. One Huger and his agent totally worked Bob Moosbrugger over in 2019 after BG lost to Buffalo in the MAC Championship. Huger was barely .500 at that point. Huger and his agent then floated his name and a bunch of other clients for the George Washington job. Moose handed him a 90k raise. Second, Moose would never fire a coach he gave an extension because it would make him look bad. That part is probably more important in the decision making than the money. Lastly, Huger knows how to play the game. It’s why Elsasser and Watson are on the roster. Maybe Huger doesn’t let the Frye situation happen without the raise and extension. Maybe make a coach have two winning seasons before offering 90k raises. Did we ever figure out why Stacey left? Bowling Green basketball has spent over 100k a year in recruiting. For who and what?

No doubt for us to win we need more talent than most teams. We aren’t going to outcoach much of anyone. That is pretty obvious.
Bottom line is there is still time to turn it around and get playing better before the MAC tournament. It’s not complete panic mode, but it’s getting there.
If BG wants to compete in Football, Basketball, and Baseball than you’re gonna need a new AD. Hockey kind of is what it is, a program in a bad league. Moosbrugger is completely over his head and a mediocre AD would be a step up. You see zero leadership thru anything since he’s been here. Just lays back and hopes nobody notices him.
