USCHO Rankings

Post by BillyLP »

Latest rankings have BG up to #9, while Quinnipiac falls to #16. As with any rankings, I'm taking these with a grain of salt because they still have Michigan at #7 despite outright losses in 5 of their last 6 contests.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Awesome to see our program ranked that high. Need to keep winning and stay up there.

Team should be commended for the good start. In particular the sweep at QPac. The real test comes the rest of the way where the schedule has some better programs.

I agree with you - they need to keep it up against the "big boys" of the WCHA to really be ranked this high.

However, I think they deserve some credit for the Robert Morris sweep. They aren't a typical power by any means, but they're 8-3-0 on the season, and 2 of those losses areto our Falcons, which is why they're ranked 20th in the nation in the latest USCHO poll. Those are some quality wins on our resume, as well.

#6 in the USA Today Poll which is more important IMO.

It's likely the team doesn't keep up this pace the remainder of the season but their road record coupled with wins against some good programs should be enough to make the dance if they don't win the WCHA. The Mankato series in early February is shaping up to be appointment viewing.

Nice mention on the USCHO weekly podcast. Fast forward to the 9:20 mark if you want to skip over the Gopher/Husky sweeps discussion.

BG stayed at #8 this week, behind #7 Michigan, while UM hasn't played since January 22.

Big series coming with #6 Minnesota State this weekend.
