FINAL: WMU 76, BG 70

Yet another loss. I don't even know what to say anymore. This team has absolutely been a disappointment this year, and it's to the point that I don't even really want to watch them anymore. And when you look at the schedule, there isn't a single "gimme" left.

We might be the worst team in the MAC. We certainly play like it.

415K per year... No energy on the bench? Isn’t that what you recruit the administrators kids for?

Well, perhaps not being able to get tickets to games this year was a hidden blessing. I get to spend my evenings with family at home rather than dragging them to the Stroh to watch this disappointment.

It absolutely is. And with my kid getting ready to partake in his own sports and activities, I'm not certain I'll be back next year either. Hugers teams are awful to watch and it sure as hell won't be more fun after we lose our top players

I think this team looks bored... I know they look awful right now and I understand that people will say I am nuts and it might all crumble.
I see a team that is bored and got full of itself and now has a reality check coming up they need to finish in the top 8 if they do that they have just as good of a shot at winning the tourney and going to the NCAA as they did at the start of the year.... It will be Hugers job to turn this around and this will be his bigggest test as a head coach. He needs to settle on a rotation from 8 and stick with them, it is the only way this team will gel.

Just my 2 cents

I disagree they have as good of a shot as they did before the season to win the MAC Tournament. Toledo is way better than they were in November, Bowling Green is much worse. BG will be a double digit dog at Toledo.

Wow...What a year for BG Football and Men’s Basketball. Talk about just wiping out your fan base...tonight was unwatchable. This team is all done. They’ll just be playing out the year.

I feel really bad for Justin Turner. What a mistake it was to return to BG. This coach has no clue what he’s doing out there. Can anyone tell me what our offense is that we run? Is there any rhyme or reason to our rotations?

I feel the biggest factor is our roster structure and rotations. We have no size or length. This is why guys are wide open for three against us. We have to commit three guys to protecting the rim and even with three we don’t defend it. We don’t have a roster to compete In today’s game so we have to rely on making threes. Yet we don’t run an offense to get guys open looks from three. Today’s basketball is positionless.

One last thing, Metheny should see less than ten minutes and Swingle should never ever see the floor.

These complaints about the offense have been ongoing since day 1 with huger. That extension was stupid the day it was signed and looks colossally stupid now.

It wasn’t just a contract extension. It was a 28% raise with a career record of 2 games above .500. It was so easy Huger just discussed it publicly weeks before it was signed. Nate Oats left Buffalo and BGSU had the best roster in the league. It’s been nothing but underachievement since and that includes all those close wins last year. Ya know those wins that KenPom categorize as luck, that BGSU administrators love to tweet about. The data didn’t lie.

So when is the extension up? How many more years of this do we have to live through?

2024. A classic example of negotiating against yourself by Bob Moosbrugger. Or in today’s world negotiating for Twitter likes.

Correct. BGSU needed to offer 6 years to Jans to land him. Chris Kingston then gave Huger the same 6 years the following year. Just say that out loud. A 6 year contract to land a Mid-American Conference basketball coach. Insanity.

Not sure if I'm buying this. JT is the most overrated player to ever play here. Yeah, he can score of he takes a ton of shots. But, he never gets it done in the clutch. He can't finish at all against any type of defense. He plays hero ball and pounds on the floor a lot. We'd been better off turning the page and investing the minutes elsewhere.
