Has a preseason favorite ever had a colossal collapse like this?

Post by BGSU33 »

I've been following MAC hoops since the early 1990's, and I cannot recall ever seeing a team that was picked to win the league suffer a major collapse like this. This marks 5 straight losses (this one to the last place team in the MAC), 6 losses in the last 7 games, and 4 straight losses at home. We are now 6-6 in the MAC. This team is a complete disaster right now. There's no other way to put it.

Well we had lost 3 in a row as the favorite to limp into the end of the season last year.

Hm it's really the same thing every year. Huger can't coach

Exactly. Last year Bowling Green won so many close games it was rather remarkable. It was so remarkable that Jason Knavel and company started this rankings were biased against them nonsense. They were an underdog to Toledo despite being the 2 seed. It was a lot of smoke and mirrors last season too. Then Huger basically did nothing to improve the roster even after Turner decided to return. Washington was added in August probably via film. All signs showed all transfers would become eligible. Toledo went after them, Bowling Green tweeted.

It'd be best to wait and see what happens this weekend...

BG now has a losing record in the MAC at 6-7. That’s ) in a row, with a game at Toledo on deck so there’s 7 losses in a row.
