Re: 2021 Schedule
I like this schedule. Two money games that are important for the program, two winnable OOC games, and a nice conference schedule with only two mid-weekers.

Looks like you and MarkL raced to post this. Both said the same thing! Ha. Great minds think alike.....
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

Ha! Yeah looks pretty similar. I was about to delete the one I wrote but now it is too funny. It has to stay.

Re: 2021 Schedule
Since the athletic Dept still has about $160 of my $$ for a season ticket deal that couldn’t be used, I wonder how they’ll handle it for this yr.

Considering the budget issues, I think we need to load up on money games.

Considering that there will probably still have some limits on crowds in September... I wonder if the money games will pay out as much as the contract states.. perhaps the home teams will try to negotiate a smaller payout??

Re: 2021 Schedule
I'm hoping that there aren't any restrictions still in place by September. With now three vaccines on the market (J&J got approved yesterday), my hope is that the U.S. can get to "herd" immunity this summer. That's not out of the question IF people get vaccinated. The amount of vaccine will be there for anyone who wants to get it, probably by late July. Supply should not be an issue at all with the three now approved, but we may see one or two more on the market before summer to further bolster the supply.Falco_peregrinusana wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 6:49 am Considering that there will probably still have some limits on crowds in September... Re: 2021 Schedule
My guess is states governed by R's will be back to normal business by the summer, D governed states probably into the fall. Not trying to get political at all, just the reality of the landscape. I hope we're all able to attend games no matter where they're played.Falconwriter wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 11:22 amI'm hoping that there aren't any restrictions still in place by September. Re: 2021 Schedule
There's one winnable game on the schedule and it's Murray State. 2021 is going to be a carbon copy of 2020 unfortunately. Program is going to need another year or two after this to finally have the foundation needed to compete within the conference.

Re: 2021 Schedule
I had similar thoughts. There's more than one winnable game - put South Alabama, Akron, and NIU as winnable games. It is going to be another down year. A freshman / sophomore team going up against veteran teams is not going to fare well but it is going to mean an investment in future seasons. If indeed this year is the end of the bleeding in terms of veteran classes disintegrating, then maybe we're finally making real progress rather than stuck in neutral and reverse ... though making progress from a far negative position.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 3:15 pmThere's one winnable game on the schedule and it's Murray State. 2021 is going to be a carbon copy of 2020 unfortunately. A thought I had. Womens basketball just won the regular season title. That team a few years ago was a total disaster. Moose hired a new coach and enabled Fralick to build the team from foundation. And the results are now evident. Sound familiar?
Of course there is a huge difference between basketball and football. One or two good basketball players can win a game. Building a football program takes years to develop and recruit. Talented freshmen can win you a basketball game but football freshmen are generally not strong or tough enough to win games, especially on the lines where we had true freshmen all over the place this past year.
Point is, give it time. Moose has already demonstrated talent in hiring coaches. So let this thing play out and have some patience.

Re: 2021 Schedule
I'd like to clarify that I agree that it's going to be a down year, I'm just talking about the scheduling approach in general. OOC with two money games, an FCS game, and a peer FBS school is ideal to me.MarkL wrote: ↑Thu Mar 04, 2021 9:38 amI had similar thoughts. Re: 2021 Schedule
I am cautiously optimistic. IFFFF we get good QB play and stay healthy, we can be competitive and win 3-5 games. I like the tweak in the offense pulling an extra TE off the field and the play calling duties being shifted to Malone. In hindsight, Covid 2020 season with NO training (spring ball and most of summer) for an entire new class, many that played!, is a disaster going in.... put some thought to that really.....
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

Loeffler is 3-14 as a coach.
You think this season is shaping up to be 1-11, 2-10 type of year.
AND you think just another year or two and we'll finally have the foundation to compete within our conference? My god the bar is low.
The problem is, to this point, we have zero evidence to believe Loeffler can actually coach. We're hoping upon hope that he can recruit enough talent (and actually get them to stay in the program for more than a year or two) to overcome his inability to coach.
I hope like hell you're right about him getting this thing turned around in another year or two, because we can't afford to buy him out.
