hammb wrote: Tue Mar 02, 2021 9:21 pm Michael huger is a complete fu**ing moron. That was quite simply the dumbest stretch of coaching to end overtime I've ever seen. You run a pure iso with no movement set with Caleb effing fields!?

Then with 4.6s to get a 3 and tie you throw a fu**ing baseball pass in bounds

Get the hell away from my program. You're garbage
The baseball pass with 4.6 left is all you need to know about this coach.
The worst part is I'm nearly certain we've seen that before I just can't pinpoint when. It was so bloody stupid it hit me that I'm almost certain he's bad them attempt a half court baseball pass in bounds in the past.

That's the s**t you heave with .6 remaining, not 4.6.

Hell you can dribble the length of the court and lay it up in4.6s

Seriously when you're drawing something up for that situation that shouldn't even be in the top 20 options of what you want to try. It's effing stupid.

Shooting 10-40 from three didn't help matters either.

I have no idea how Owens talked his way out of that basket counting at the end of regulation. I agree Huger did not step up in that situation and argue for our team. I think Fields still would have got the ball off even without the slight hiccup of the clock. Probably with 0.1 or 0.2. What garbage. This was a typical Miami win.

I really do like the guys we have. I can only imagine what this group could accomplish with a competent coaching staff.

Well that was just more of the same crap coaching/plan.

I would venture at least 15 of those attempts were just mindless heaves. Dude catches ball,is behind the arc, may as well chuck it.

No plan. No movement. No passing.

I can live with poor shooting nights if the ball is jumping and the right guys are just missing the right looks. Tonight it was way too often just a quick in the shot clock throw it up.

12 more offensive rebounds, 7 fewer turnovers, 20 more shots attempted, and we lose.

Hated the call at the end of OT, but the real crime was after Plowden hit his 2 free throws with 15 seconds left in regulation we let a guy go right down Wooster for an uncontested layup.

Huger said nothing about Turner's injury, he clearly wasn't aware of what it is yet. Then again, he also dropped about 5 or 6 "it is what it is" comments in his short presser, so I'm not exactly sure what he knows anyway when it comes to losing all these home games and why we play so flat at home (these were question he was asked). "It is what it is."

Owens talked his way into it because the official knew Huger was the easier explanation. A CYO coach would put up more of a fight at a win being taken away than Huger did.

Been saying this for years, we have the worst clock/scoreboard operators in the NCAA. They cost us a win tonight. I too believe fields got that off in time. They almost cost us the home game vs Toledo last year as well. Always an issue every game. Can't keep the players stats scoreboard updated ever. The worst.

That was a what the hell moment too, I had forgotten about that one with the way the OT played out.

I don't think it should have counted at all. It's tough to say without putting a stopwatch on it, but I think if the clock had been operated properly he was at least a few tenths late.

Still, nobody can argue that BG is half assed at most aspects of running an Athletic Dept. At times its almost as of they go out of their way to make the game day experience crappy. But the stuff like this that can actually effect the games? Brutal

Didn't think too much of it at the time, because we figured "9 seconds left, Turner will just go win it" but unfortunately his senior night was, out of the 100+ games he played here, probably one of his 5 worst games in a falcon uniform (7-19 shooting, 1-7 from 3, 1-3 from the line) and he tripped over his own feet and hurt himself on the final possession. Unfortunate Stroh Center send-off for such a great player.

I don't watch any college basketball outside of BG. IS this maybe just how things are now? People don't run offenses?
