INEXCUSABLE!

Post by TG1996 »

Our basketball team just won a HOME tournament game to advance to the quarterfinals against a pretty serious rival, and yet, at least an hour and a half after the game ended, there is still no update on bgsufalcons.com!!! They have the score entered in the stats page, and the box score is there if you dig a bit, but no game story. They don't have to have 5,000 words, or all the quotes and notes done, but how freaking hard can it be to write "Senior John Reimold scored 38 points as the Falcons beat Ball State 75-73. Reimold's total was the second highest in MAC tournament history and the most points by a Falcon since Keith McLeod's 42 against Buffalo in 2002.

The Falcons led 45-30 at halftime, but Ball State opened the second half with a xx-xx run to take a one point lead with X minutes to play. (Ball State player) had a chance to tie as time expired, but his shot bounced off the rim.

Josh Almanson added 20 points for the Falcons, who will play Miami at 7pm Thursday at Gund Arena in Cleveland."

It took me 2 minutes. TWO.

Thank God for this site to find quality information, and the AP wire here at work, because if we fans were left to rely on the OFFICIAL site of the university athletic program, we might have to go to bed wondering what happened.

It's true-- this site is the one you go to first if you want to find out BG sports info. I swear, some of you guys are telepathic and know stuff about the Falcons before it happens.

well in defense of www.bgfalcons.com, this site is run by a bunch of people that are listening to the game and want to tell everyone that we won really quickly. The official site has to be more formal with it; they have to get the facts straight, type it out and put it on the website even if it does take an hour.

TG,
As I was one of about 10 or so people on the chatroom last nite, I appreciated the updates you guys were giving us...Couldn't get 88.1 on my computer, and it was great, though a bit unnerving, to "listen" to a game that way... After watching some of the games that WERE TV'd last nite, I still say that FoxSportsOhio is doing a LOUSY job of bringing OHIO sports to its fans.... Can't understand why MAC games were NOT TV'd in Cleve.

Great Catch Mike, I never looked at it that closely. I guess he has just been demoted back down one level, back in 6th grade.

I have to apologize here for flying off the handle with this post. It has come to my attention, through e-mail, that not only are there restraints on when things can be posted to the official site, the staffing available makes a game recap a very low priority. And while there was no story on the front page for awhile, the box score and season stats were updated and posted very quickly. From everything I've heard, JD Campbell and his staff does a great job getting information together and passing it along to us. Now that I know the restrictions on what can be posted and the number of tasks (some non-basketball related) on their plate after last night's game, I have to apologize to anyone in the SID office that might have been offended or taken my comments personally.
