QB situation
Re: QB situation
Yeah definitely not looking like this thing is turning around soon. If there isn’t significant improvements across the board in terms of competing, then Moosbrugger needs to be replaced. Too big of a hire to mess up. Literally every decision the department makes is to benefit the football program. It’s job that is pretty easy to build a winner in the MAC. Good campus, facility, budget, recruiting ground, etc. Get an AD in here that can make a hire and then rebuild the department and make winning important for more than just select sports.

The hockey team is ranked No. 7 in the country.TommyG wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 1:00 pm If there isn’t significant improvements across the board in terms of competing, then Moosbrugger needs to be replaced. The men's basketball team is the preseason favorite to win the MAC.
The women's basketball team looks like it has a shot to win the MAC after finishing dead last a year ago.
The women's soccer team is the defending MAC champion.
The men's soccer team played in the MAC championship game last season.
Come on, man. Moosbrugger isn't going anywhere.
On the one hand, you complain that the athletic department is too focused on football. On the other hand, you want to push the athletic director out the door because, football, even when the rest of the department is actually performing pretty well in the field. It doesn't make sense.
Turning football around will take some time. It has never in 100 years been this bad. But Scot Loeffler has a plan, and he seems to have buy in from Moosbrugger. I think Loeffler and Moosbrugger can turn this around.
Re: QB situation
BG could be undefeated in every single sport except cross country and Tommy and guest would find a way to bitch about the failing athletic department. That's why I blocked them a long, long time ago.Schadenfreude wrote: ↑Mon Jan 04, 2021 3:37 pmThe hockey team is ranked No. 7 in the country.TommyG wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 1:00 pm If there isn’t significant improvements across the board in terms of competing, then Moosbrugger needs to be replaced. Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Re: QB situation
Bowling Green could have Mike Jinks coaching the program into the toilet and Drumstick and Schadenfraud would be telling you about how he needs more time and how Jinks had the best recruiting class in the MAC. Oh wait, they and Jason Knavel already did that. The same recruits Drumstick is happy are leaving left and right. Guess what Monday the 11th is? It's time to cash in another 6.5 million in student fees for facilities and services the students cant even use, most of which Moosbrugger is in charge of. Time to get paid in BGSU athletics.
Re: QB situation
Tucker Melton injured his hamstring and Drew Gunther has a back injury, so our QBs taking snaps during spring ball right now are Riley Keller, LaBronz Davis, and Kody Sparks.

Melton is back. He was practicing Saturday 3/27, saw him on film.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.
Re: QB situation
That’s good news. We need as many bodies as we can muster right now.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 4:19 pm Melton is back. He was practicing Saturday 3/27, saw him on film.

I think the bigger issue is RB. I think we have one maybe two right now. ...mbenecke wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 4:36 pmThat’s good news. We need as many bodies as we can muster right now.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 4:19 pm Melton is back. He was practicing Saturday 3/27, saw him on film.

Re: QB situation
Loeffler gave a quote to the Blade about T. Stewart and J. Patterson being good players in the future here. I'm really excited about them - but that level of depth is rough at the moment.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 4:39 pmI think the bigger issue is RB. Re: QB situation
Raymore is out I believe for the season, who I think is best of the bunch. I think Stewart is dinged now, leaving just Patterson for practice. Clair would be nice to have now... he will be the 4th back at NW instead.

Re: QB situation
Still don’t blame Clair. With his injury history I think he’s looking more at long term investment with a potential master’s from Northwestern. He put in his time here. Stewart is really exciting but so small I’m concerned about his durability. Time will tell.roguewarrior wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 6:48 pm Raymore is out I believe for the season, who I think is best of the bunch. Re: QB situation
Not good a lot of guys are banged up in spring ball. The younger guys need all the reps they can get. Hopefully nothing serious, everyone heals quickly, and guys continue to hit the weight room hard over the summer.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.

Being 4th on the depth chart at Northwestern and playing for something sure beats a 10 year rebuilding process and the team scrapping the running game in the 2nd quarter due to being blown out. Plus, it’s a slight upgrade in his education and networking for the future.

Time will tell if staying here, healthy, carrying the load for a full season would have been better?roguewarrior wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 6:48 pm Raymore is out I believe for the season, who I think is best of the bunch. Re: QB situation
He wasn’t going to carry the load here. He would have sat out most second halves for younger players in blowouts. Similar to most of his career here combined with injuries. His situation here was going nowhere. I love this staff. Go out in public, tell anyone who will listen how bad the roster is, guys leave, then cry lack of depth. Quarterback, running back, let me guess defensive backfield is next?
Has anyone heard of the transfer portal? You are allowed to use it for more than losing players. This wasn’t around back at Michigan in the 90s and I’m sure Lloyd Carr would hate it. However, it is available.
