2021-2022 Recruiting
Re: 2021-2022 Recruiting
If we can get solid center, we’re going to be pretty solid since plowden is back. Really need a 6’9-6’11 player that can defend , score and rebound. I feel like we’re always missing that position.

Plowden is staying!
Oh man - tighten up his handle a bit and work more on that jumper like he has every year he's been here and he will BEAST

Re: 2021-2022 Recruiting
Just from what I know, I would plan on Matiss being healthy and ready to go next year.
Things can change, but I think the plan is for him to be back. If he’s back to full strength, that’s a great piece for this team - a big that can shoot with a consistent touch will gives us a big boost in terms of spacing.

Whew. Etim behind Swingle in the depth chart? That's dark.Globetrotter wrote: ↑Sun Mar 28, 2021 10:46 pm Probably something like this....1 to 4 schollies available. Waiting to hear on Matiss, Turner and Diggs.

Etim is going to be a freshman. Swingle showed some improvement overall and flashes of real competence. Give him a full offseason to improve his lateral quickness and awareness, and he MIGHT be a viable MAC player. He's more likely to be that than a freshman most likely.

Re: 2021-2022 Recruiting
Swingle has actually shown close to NO improvement at all over 2 years. He's ineffective in the post and is a defensive liability. He has had several offseasons to develop his game. He's not a viable MAC player now, nor will he be when he's done here. We have a thick-headed coach who insists on playing him, for some pathological, sadistic reason.Diemilkweed wrote: ↑Thu Apr 01, 2021 6:14 pm Etim is going to be a freshman. On the contrary, you see kids entering the MAC all the time who can immediately outperform him. If you watch Etim's video's, it's abundantly clear that he'll be an immediate defensive presence inside.

Agreed. He is physically gifted but needs to put on a bit more bulk and work on his offensive touch to be a true impact player. Might take him a year or two.Globetrotter wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 12:38 pmI think he is pretty rawBleedOrange wrote: ↑Fri Apr 02, 2021 9:10 amSwingle has actually shown close to NO improvement at all over 2 years. He is committing at some point today according to his twitter.fredthefalcon wrote: ↑Thu Mar 25, 2021 9:34 am Verbal Commits reports BG offering 6'8" PF Scott Blakney a SR transfer from Idaho. Generally was a 3 year starter and second leading scorer at 10+ PPG on a really bad Idaho Vandals team with a 1-21 record.
