Heisenberg shows Keighan Gerrie as no longer committed to us though he doesn't show as a commit anywhere else. Was he one of Maco's recruits?
There's nothing on this Twitter page indicating any commitments anywhere.
Maco told his recruits to honor their BG commitments. Not gonna stop anyone from flipping but it's dicey for a kid in junior hockey to renege on his next level prospects without knowing he'd get looks elsewhere.
Possibly a leftover of Barry's? Heisenberg has had him crossed off for at least a couple weeks now. Elite Prospects and CHN were the only place I saw had him committed last week.
It wouldn't make much sense to lose recruits with Maco leaving. At least, it would be close to career suicide if he flipped any to somewhere else (not saying it couldn't happen). He took a managerial position with a player development company. It looks like college aged players are too old for them. It looks like it's preparing kids for juniors and college.
Throwing money at the program isn't going to make things instantly better. We're all aware of how the Frack money is being mismanaged with the basketball program, and The Stroh really hasn't had a discernible impact on men's basketball the way most people would like. UND also isn't FBS in football and they choose to dedicate resources to hockey. BG could and should be that way in the eyes of many.
Fact is, winning programs attract talent. UND wins. They have excellent coaches. They get kids to the NHL. Same can't be said for Bowling Green hockey on the same level. Until they're able to put in the work to get there, it's not gonna change.
I know that, you know that. Those that are freaking out about a "mass exodus" of 5th seniors, well, there's the answer. INVEST in making the program/facilities better.
Next season will be tough. We'll have five returning defensemen, but two have not played much. At forward, we'll have some experience if not a lot of goals. I like Rose and wonder why he did not get more starts.

Will Cullen commits to Miami.
Will wasn't very well liked in the locker room so while his on-ice talents will be missed, I think this is a positive move for the culture of the program.

Gabriel Chicoine, defenseman, is transferring to BG from Norwich, a D-III program. 55 points in 67 career games there. He'll be a junior.
Aside from another French speaker for Collin to talk to, is there any insight into this move? I don't want to dismiss a DIII to DI transfer out of hand but it's difficult to find much info about him.

Older guy that played on a very good D3 team. 6-16-22 in 31 games as a freshman, 5-26-31 in 28 games as a sophomore, 0-2-2 in 8 games this season. He's a 24 years old. His last two seasons in the QJHL he was over a point per game. My guess is he was a player that was getting some interest (may have even verballed) at the D1 level, but there just wasn’t enough for him to get an offer. His stats suggest he knows how to get the puck to the net.

In other breaking news, Rauhauser was just promoted to Syracuse/AHL. Craggs was promoted to the Chicago Wolves/AHL a while back which is nice for him seeing is he's from Chicagoland. Short drive up the Tri-State from his home in Elmhurst.
