There will be some boos that night, I'd imagine.

Only the 2nd time Berge will be back at the Slate since leaving, as well.

28 points in 3 seasons as a forward is just okay, but he seems pretty durable and he has to be somewhat skilled, as he played in 82 games for Minnesota in 3 seasons there. So for him to at least be consistently be in a Big Ten lineup tells me he can play here.

56 points in 60 games his only full season in the NAHL. Before that it looks like he bounced around AAA before he found where he fit in. Definitely has potential.

Burke also apparently still has 2 years of eligibility, so this is more than a one-year signing.

He's a AZ kid. I remember him playing for the Jr Yotes as he was a '98, same as one of my kids.

Actually remember being sort of surprised when he was offered by the U. He had a huge 2nd year in the NA though.

Pretty good size...he'll be good in the corners of the Ice Arena.

He entered college at nineteen instead of playing another year or two of juniors. We might be onto a late bloomer here.

Lots of unknowns, but really not all that bad.

I mean, Norris was Ferris’ leading scorer, Craggs, Burke (Minnesota), Barbs, Taylor, Scardina and Collin have all fairly consistently played. Pitters and Conquest were semi-regulars. Lloyd is great, Coyle and Malmstrom played basically every game, Daly played most games. Rose has a half season of starts under his belt. I guess it isn’t like we’re starting from scratch - just lots of questions and guys that need to step up and produce.

That's a game lineup. I'd expect 10-12 freshman. There's 3 on that list that very rarely make the lineup. I don't know the details surrounding that, but the roster has been thin lately. Thin roster plus a couple injuries and suddenly guys don't have to compete as hard to make the lineup. Every player needs to know their is someone to replace them that's not dressed for the game.

Right, this is current state. Honestly, there are players on the current roster who probably aren't going to play much if at all given the large class coming in. Guys like St-Jean and Danol need to show they're D-1 players. I also wouldn't be shocked if Musser comes back for another year if he's unable to catch on anywhere. BG is thin on D. Same for in goal where I'd imagine a transfer would make sense to slot in behind Rose. Rolling with Stoever as a true freshman is a big ask, especially with Rose's history of being banged up from time to time.

I would put Wright and Musser as being in a similar situation as Gould. If they can secure a scholarship or tuition funding of some sort, they'll play. That's if they are interested in doing a Masters at BG. I'm a little surprised Wright hasn't committed anywhere yet. Hanging out in college just to play hockey weighs a little different when in comes to pulling money out of your pocket.

I felt the other guys were better skaters than Wright; thought he might be the last one standing. Kinda hope to see him back.

Based on his numbers in juniors, I was excited to see Danol come into the program (hoping he was another Kruse or Wright). Maybe this is the year.

Code: Select all

Year Team GP G A	Pt	PIM
2017-18 Surrey Eagles BCHL	52	11 8	19	20
2018-19 Coquitlam Express	BCHL	53	23	14	37	34
Lakers took a hit with Kaeble and Calder (who is joining Ford at UND). Understand Kaeble given that LSSU doesn't have a grad program, but Calder just finished his junior year. Loughran from Northern is in the portal. Good riddance.

Obviously there are guys on that list that just are not going to be in BG.

There's no way..... with between 12-14 new freshman set to come in as well.
We are not going to have a 35 player roster......so in both that list above and the recruit list there are subtractions yet to happen.

You local guys are sure gonna need a game program come October...LOL!! There might be nights with 10+ new names in the lineup, maybe more.

I don't know how the media and coaches will even predict what the leagues standings will be in preseason. Some teams will be so changed you won't even have much to go on. Who knows how fast or slow some teams will gel etc... gonna be really crazy!!

Agreed...all we can hope for is the team to get on track quickly and make a push to get a shiny new 3rd place CCHA trophy...may be a long shot this year
