Officially launching my campaign

Post by 1987alum »

to be hired as the new assistant athletic director for marketing & corporate relations with the unveiling of my new avatar.

I hoping support from AZZ.com will be the deciding factor in receiving an offer to move back to Ohio.

Thanks in advance for your support.

Did you send in a resume?

$19,999 isn't what you'd start at I'm sure. Though if I had change for a twenty I'm sure I could hit the mark from there. I don't think it was/is a highly paid position. Things change though.

Compensation is found at...

http://www.bgsu.edu/offices/ohr/compensation/pay.html

Plus you would either get retire paid into STRS or PERS. I think STRS.

I think a grade 16 would be in order to match assistant director of the Student Union or AAD of Finanial affairs. $42,500 - 66,900.

From having been in the paid world of academia - this is probably a grade 5 and they are trying to get someone with little or no experience.
Not that I am pessimistic

Joke or not Alum87 Your journalism background will be something they honestly would be interested in

Tech: Good detective work. I've run the numbers on cost-of-living differences. Still not the picture I'd like, but could be one of the sacrifices I'd have to make. 8)

On the plus, If things haven't changed, Noah could go to BG for free (tuition) so you wouldn't have to save so much for college. I know faculty used to get this benefit, but I am not sure if they still offer it, or offer it to Admin people. Some Universities are really good at giving this benefit, others (like UK) don't

I'm surprised UK doesn't offer at least reduced tuition. That was one of the downsides to Ruth quitting her full-time professor gig - a chance at reduced tuition. That's why we're eagerly awating national letter of intent day, 2017.

The person previously listed as the Assistant Atheletic Director for Marketing and Corporate Relations was at the 16 level ($42,545 - $66,889).

You would have your choice as to whether to pay into PERS or go into an alternative retirement system. And yes, BGSU does offer free tuition for dependents once you have been employed for three years.

The link below goes into benefits offered by the University:

Yeah, I am glad that BG kept the tution wavier. While I probably will never end up back a BG, I am definitly looking for employment at a University that offers those benefits. I think my oldest will be in junior high, before I actually have a real tenure track faculty position. Plus there are other great perks for working in Admin at BG. In the summer you get Friday afternoons off, and most the ones I knew took Wednesday as well. Its great for working on your golf game.
