I would venture to guess, most that applied for BG position would be interested in UB.

Polian from ND
Tim Beck NC ST
Vince Kehres?

Just couple of names I have read already.

Great hire by Kansas. And Leipold, good luck. Once you get a winning season or even close, get out of dodge and go for a Big Ten job. I've long thought he should be Ferentz' successor at Iowa. Anyone who can win at Kansas should be a candidate for big time jobs.

Maybe they could pry Mike Jinks loose from Southern California. :-)

Slightly more seriously: I see Gregg Brandon is doing very well at the Colorado School of Mines. I wonder if he would ever want to try Division I again. (My guess is that he likes it out west, though.)

Best of luck but Kansas is a graveyard for head coaches. Only Mark Mangino has a winning lifetime record there since 1952 and he barely did thanks mainly to one magnificent 12-1 season.

100% agreed. I was trying to tactfully say that Leipold has too good of a career to risk Kansas. That place is a career killer. Of course what do I know because I said the same thing about Iowa State when Campbell went there.

An excellent take on the state of Kansas football. Leipold has his work cut out for him.

Lance Leipold is 57 years old. He just increased his salary 4X base. How many more chances was he going to get to cash in like that? Probably very few. It makes a lot of sense.

With Linguist off to Buffalo, Michigan has a defensive coaching vacancy. I read on a different blog that Cato June is a candidate there.
Whether he takes it or not, that is a great endorsement of June.

Steve Clinkscale from UK is taking the open job at Michigan.

He was a Colonel in the Army, before coaching football.
