After a tough first 3 games of the series, BG bounced back to take one from Ball State on Sunday afternoon, 8-5.

Then, this afternoon, they beat Miami, 7-1.

BG is now 13-22 on the year and 11-14 in MAC play. While still a long way to go before we're fighting for a MAC title, we now have our highest conference win total since 2015 - and that's significant.

For those of you not paying attention to the young baseball Falcons, they are getting better and better each outing. Swept NIU in today’s DH, with two young pitchers leading the way. Tomorrow will be the last chance to see them this year but many of us are looking forward to next year, with most the starters returning, a few coming off the IR, and a GREAT recruiting class.

BG finishes 20-30 on the year, including an 18-22 record in MAC play.

This is the first season in which we’ve hit the 20 win mark since 2015. For it to have come in a year where so many young players were consistently in the lineup is remarkable, and may very well be a sign of fantastic moments to come.

BG Baseball is back, and we’re better for it.

Falcon get a nice , 9-5 win over perennial power Jent State to open the weekend series.
Great starting pitching from Gage Schenk and the long ball powered the win at KSU.

Started out a horrendous 2-15 but have really strung together a few good games and are 6-3 in their last nine. Looked at the roster and saw that they don't have a single LHP??? How does that even happen? I've known programs to even go with a below average talent just to have a left handed arm in the bullpen for 1-2 batter situations.

Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

They have 2 that I’m aware of. One is hurt I believe…he was a weekend starter last year. The other one pitches out of the bullpen. Don’t disagree they could use a few more.
Hopefully they continue to play a little better. Never seen anything quite like their start to conference play. Bad doesn’t even do it justice.

They have two and both are coming off Tommy John In the past year or so, and both are probably weekend starters in the future. They also have at least one LHP coming in next year and two the following year.

Baseball had a nice series win against UT. BG got the win in front of a nice crowd tonight at 5th/3rd Field. At least one Men’s sport can beat UT.

Absolutely GREAT night at 5th/3rd Field last night.
Good pitching, good defense, great small ball execution, super weather and a great crowd to watch the Falcons down the scuds!

Watched two future Falcon baseball players today that will be here this fall. The pitcher, Jacob Turner topped at 93 mph and was consistent at 90-91mph. The 1st baseman, Brady Birchmeier, had a 2B and a HR. These are only two of the 10-12 newcomers to the program this fall.
The future is BRIGHT for the baseball program, now we need to get the improvements moving to the field.

Hope he has better luck than the Jacob Turner that the Tigers drafted back in the 2000's

Speaking of MLB...Former Falcon Jon Berti leads the NL in steals with 28 and is sporting a nice looking 111 OPS+

Don't think any other "professional" Falcons top a leaderboard
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
