Wow...that RMU announcement is complete BS on so many levels....from recruits to players to coaches, pretty low class from that Administration.

Justin Addamo and/or Randy Hernandez would be two guys I think BG would at least take a look at. Both played well in the two games against BG......don't know much about their incoming recruits.

There's some good reading about the Robert Morris situation here. Cliff Notes version, the Pittsburgh Steelers GM was on Robert Morris's board. He resigned over the weekend (plead for saving the programs at the board meeting). There was no official vote taken by their Board. During the Frozen Four, the head coach and Pittsburgh Penguins officials were looking over architectural plans for renovating the arena.

Are there any insights into the incoming freshmen class? The free snippets available on the Neutral Zone Twitter feed make every kid seem like he’s Gordie Howe.

He was also named East Division Goaltender of the Year.

This article says 8 freshman incoming. I believe Ty has said 4 forwards at some point this offseason.

The tournament is official, although the organizers don't seem to be saying who teams will meet in the opening round. The aforementioned pairings make sense, though.

I suppose the CCHA would have to consider them, but it sure would be nice if the CCHA could trade a couple of the western teams to the NCHC for Miami and Western Michigan.

There you go, trying to apply good sense to college hockey again.

For us, Augustana is about 50 miles closer than Bemidji, but still a 13+ hour bus ride.

Travel wise, we are the league outlier; on average it takes a CCHA opponent 8:40/571 mi to make it to the Slate. Northern is "closest" to everyone, it's only 5:45/344 mi on average to Marquette. Ferris is the wacky one. Because of Lake Michigan's geography you're either pretty close or very far away so they have the highest travel variability (standard deviation). In the summer Google Maps tries to run the ferry route between Muskegon and Milwaukee to/from Big Rapids which I find humorous for some reason.

Code: Select all

	    Avg Miles	Avg Travel Time
BSU 507 8:25
BGSU 571 8:40
FSU 492 7:30
LSSU 401 6:30
MNSU 461 7:30
MTU 372 6:15
NMU 344 5:45
UST 412 6:35
Either Lindenwood or Augustana would overtake us as the longest average league travel destination. So we got that going for us.
