Honestly seems fair. BG was ... not good in 2020. Tennessee went 3-7, fired their coach for NCAA violations, and made a massive coaching upgrade. By talent alone Tennessee should normally be a top 25 team but has always been constrained by boosters and the looming presence of Phil Fulmer. Boosters remain but with Fulmer out of the way, Josh Huepel should get the opportunity to succeed that no Tennessee coach has been afforded in over a decade.
I was catching up with an old friend of mine, Tennessee grad and one of the few out there with a realistic perspective on Tennessee football. I said if we keep it within 3 possessions I would be happy. He said just don't pull a Georgia State and he's happy.

If BG can score more than 11 points, give up less than 45 points, complete better than 45% of its passes while forcing at least one punt in this game - it would be a major improvement over the train wreck we witnessed last year, and the last several for that matter.
GO BG!!!

Tennessee despite their struggles are probably going to hang a number that starts with a 5 or 6. I don't see BG getting above single digits, or a number that starts with one. My guess is this line will move considerably in the Vols favor up until kickoff.

Yeah, I'd bet on Tennessee at this point with a 30.5 pretty easily. I think BG will be much improved, but Tennessee has some of the best athletes in the country, and they'll be back at full capacity for the first time since 2019. Lots of emotions that will rally UT and rattle BG, if I had to guess. I'd bet on something like a 52-13 final. As long as the offense shows some capability and the defense shows improved tackling, I'll take it.jpfalcon09 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 7:35 am Tennessee despite their struggles are probably going to hang a number that starts with a 5 or 6. If we still had Clair, I think our offence would move the ball and surprise a lot of people....but he left......... What would pleasantly surprise fans would be a defense that looks good aby making stops and plays.....maybe we can beat Akron this year....I have circled the date OCT 9 and hoping to watch a good game.

The score I had in my head is 52-20, which is not a three possession game. I just want to see some improvements, some decent plays on both sides of the ball, and no injuries.
