Yeah, the roster isn't entirely accurate. Nonetheless, yikes. Some guys are going to have to take a big leap forward for BG to be competitive.
If the incoming freshman are close to the quality of last season's class, it'll be a great season. It's been a long time since we've seen a class come in and work that hard from the get.

Given that Mankato is still Mankato, Bemidji lost only Driscoll, and Tech has a large, experienced junior class, if we pull off home ice for the first round of the playoffs with 10+ new faces I'd say it was a fantastic season.

Program is going to go the way of the dodo, most likely. Feel bad for the players as a lot of them probably aren't going to find a transfer home.

Bucci tweeted that Robert Morris might be reinstated.

A Pittsburgh sports reporter tweeted some sort of announcement will happen in the next 24-48 hours.

Looks like the players/coaches hired the right attorney.

Can this offseason get any more strange? I thought last offseason was weird. This one is saying "hold my beer."

We have an offseason thread with 22 pages. Yeah, strange one indeed...

RMU announced they're going to try and resurrect the hockey program, but under a fundraising effort much like UAA and UAH did (and BG baseball). Pretty much a farce. They have plenty of money to support the program, but just don't want to. If UAA and UAH are any example, this effort is probably not going to lead to anything sustainable long-term. Players have already transferred out of the program and they don't have a conference to play in.

BG has signed Peter Eigner, Coach Eigner’s son.

He went to St. John’s Jesuit in Toledo, and he recorded a .910 save percentage in 2019-2020 as a goalie.

I assume he slides into the Brett Rich role as the third goalie who likely never sees the ice.

As a Whitmer grad I'll overlook the St. John's line on his resume. This kid has had a fascinating journey, congrats to him and the Eigner family.

That's a pretty remarkable save percentage -- but I have no idea what his team was like (good with defense helping the goalie) or the kind of competition he faced.

His tuition is paid for without using an athletic scholarship. Why not? That's a tough position to recruit for anyways.

I'm having fun. Same situation as Rich. Happy for the kid.
