9/2 at Tennessee

I guess never too early to discuss the opener.

Loeffler did an interview with one of the Vols media outlets, worth a listen.

It is a long drive for me and the game probably will be out of hand by halftime. But I'm still seriously considering going just because it has been two years since stepping foot in a college football stadium and I miss it.

Do it. The experience those of us who went to Notre Dame had was well worth the slog that the game ended up being (expectedly).

Drove through Knoxville with my wife today on our way to a cabin in Pigeon Forge, where we're celebrating our one-year wedding anniversary.

Had to stop by Neyland Stadium and check it out. Place is massive - going to be a great experience for our guys in 35 days!

Officially 30 days away...

Obviously this game doesn't project to be close, but I'm interested to see how the young guys handle a hostile environment.

I read that Joe Milton, the transfer from Michigan, is doing well so far at Tennessee in practice. If he is the starter that may be a concern for Tennessee. His arm is huge. He can stretch the field. He can throw strong passes when backpedaling. Problem is he doesn't always know where the ball is going and he makes some ill advised decisions under pressure. No telling how he will do under a different staff running a different offense but he was far more miss than hit at Michigan.

Game will be a concern regardless. They have better athletes, even with the departures. Heupel's system is going to really put stress on BG's younger kids. It's really an impossible task to expect a young team to try and keep up with a warp speed offense.

I just hope the dogs get called off early and we don't have another 77 spot hanging up on the scoreboard.

I'm not saying he will be a concern for BG. Given the athletes for Tennessee, Joe Bauserman could return from CFB after a decade, separate his shoulder and bust his ACL and still have a good game against BG. No, I'm saying Milton could be a concern if you're a Tennessee fan. Especially against SEC competition.

CFN posted their prediction for the game. If it ends up like they say, I'll be modestly surprised.

13 days.

I think we'd be thrilled with a competitive first quarter/first half and a 45-10 result.

I think this is right. This team is *so* young. I look forward to seeing what we have, though.

In the three non-conference FBS games under Loeffler, BG has scored a combined 7 points. So if its single digits and the digit isn't 0, that's an improvement, right?

The depth chart will be out Monday to coincide with coach's press conference.
