At this point there will not be any external fans at Houston Fieldhouse for our 2 games against RPI to start the year. I guess that means students only...

Sad. I just now rec'd an email from the HFH Box office confirming "..we will not be processing season ticket applications or individual game ticket sales to any non-campus community members." To add confusion, for some reason it goes on to state: " " An exception may be granted for the "approved special events" though we need to gain clarification and specifics on that. " "

The NCAA has approved a waiver for this season allowing NCAA teams to play exhibition games against each other. There is room in BG's schedule to add a game the weekend of October 2nd. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Adrian added in there.

There's also the weekend between 10/8-9 with RPI and 10/22-23 with Miami that could see something added.

Adrian’s first game is scheduled for Oct 30 so they have those early Oct dates open.

Michigan is a fantastic addition to the schedule. Should be a real challenge for us - they are absolutely loaded.

Loaded with individual talent. But, very beatable. It will be a good eye-opener for the new guys. Statistically, the game doesn't exist.

With it being an exhibition, you already know everyone will dress. So I look forward to seeing our young team challenged right away. I want to see who be the guy that will step up this year and make a play when times are tough.

Despite the game not counting for anything in the official standings, I hope this rekindles the relationship with Michigan to get them back on the normal schedule. I know BG has been against scheduling them because they won't do a return trip to the Madhouse, but they're too close to not be an out-of-conference mainstay.

Bemidji will play an exhibition at North Dakota. I'm not exactly sure the NCAA anticipated the waiver being used by D1 schools to play each other. The waiver was apparently approved last season, but it was too late for any teams to take advantage of it. The current approval is D1, D2-D3, and ACHA teams. If it continues next season, I look for it to be tweaked for different divisional teams, ie D1 vs D3, etc.

When pdt mentioned Adrian I thought that was a very good fit. Little chance of all these freshmen getting their brains bashed in, an opportunity to see what's what with the transfers, some time to fiddle with the special teams, and a little extra revenue for the additional home game at the Slate. I don't want to turn my nose up at the opportunity to play the most loaded D1 team this year, but I think this game would have served us better last year than right now.

Curious as to whether Ty called Mel or Mel called Ty.

If Michigan is not willing to play in BG, to hell with them is my attitude despite their location.

Yeah, it will be a good introduction to the speed of the college game. I struggle with the possible outcomes. The most "talented" team. If BG loses it's because they are supposed to. If BG wins, it's possible heads will be too big to get on the bus. Sure, there's the motivational aspect of "that's what we'll be facing this season, we need to be at the top of our game." But if it goes bad, it could be really bad.
It just doesn't seem like a good match-up for an exhibition. A baptism by fire mulligan I guess?
