Way more composed than they probably should be given the class makeup of the roster.
I fully expect UT to run away in the second half with their depth but I’m very happy with this showing so far.

Well we've got a kicking game.

Bench kinda looked like Tebow trying to block as a TE that play.

14-6!

Aaaaaand McDonald takes a sack to fall out of reasonable field goal range. Can’t have that happen there.

Dang.

But what the hell do I know? Needham nails a 50-yarder, and it’s 14-6 with 1:16 until halftime.

The team calmed down and has played a great 2nd quarter. That's something for the team to be proud of and something to build upon.

Play calling was spectacular that drive. Hope they keep that up. Haven’t seen a kicker that good since Suisham!

After rough coverage on the ensuing kickoff gives Tennessee good field position, BG stops Tennessee again. They’re content to run out the clock.

Halftime: Tennessee 14, BGSU 6

Hell yeah defense. Milton is confused. I would've used our last timeout to make them punt. Major clock mistake.

This team is showing us something right now. They got punched in the face early on, but have gotten back on their feet and are battling.

Play design was vastly improved. Moved pockets. Jet or orbit motion on nearly every play.

We can't block them up. We won't block them up. So you must use misdirection to get the QB some space. We finally did that.

And the defense has responded to their offense making some plays. As bad as the first quarter was the second quarter was quite good.

Fantastic 2nd Quarter!
But even in the first - no huge plays by Tenn. good tackling throughout. WR rarely dropped and MacDonald was on target. Really loved that 2nd quarter and shut the loud environment up.
Now Tenn. is not a good team but Milton is a strong QB and huge size advantage.
Few penalties although the ones they had were dumb - but really awesome effort so far!
And Needham!!!

I called it a half too quickly.

Tennessee took a timeout with 1 second left and we got caught with 12 men on the field after a timeout. Not good.

But nothing comes of it, and we’re now officially to halftime at 14-6 Vols.
