I always figured Jacksonville hiring Meyer had less to do with his coaching acumen and more to do with hiring a guy who happens to be one of the top college coaches in history and happened to win 2 local national titles in order to excite the fanbase. Same reason for the Tebow at TE situation. Local hero, and a ploy to distract from growing pains of a new coaching staff. So if it all crashes and burns, call me unsurprised.

C;mon. I hate Urban. What he did is so minor and he is so new to coaching at this level and this system he should obviously get time to acclimate himself. He is one of the best college coaches of all time. Why you wouldn't give him time with a top QB to build his system is beyond me. Because some random girl grinded on him at a bar.....this is nonsense.

Meh. The guy is a massive narcissist and hypocrite. Funny he doesn't fly back with his team after a tough loss last Thursday night, in a game they probably should have won, just to be recorded partying the next night. Don't care about his personal life, but if I were a Jags player there's no doubt my opinion would be that this dude is a massive joke. Urban's ego always gets the best of him and his situation in Jacksonville is going to be no different.

I agree that Urbie is one of...if not the..greatest college coaches of all time. He went out west and made Utah a national player, went south to Florida and brought that program back to a championship level and then he moved back to the midwest and did the same at OSU. Can't think of another coach who's success came in such a variety of locales. Is he a narcissist? Possibly...he seems to operate in a manner that suggests an indifference towards the rules...IIRC what I learned in Dr Kumler's abnormal psych class...that's one of the traits of a narcissist.

The Khan's don't seem to be the kind of people who want their Coaches making a public spectacle of themselves...will they fire him over this? If they were going to they probably already would have, but It seems likely that this is a mark against him. Does he get three strikes or nine lives?

I would guess he'd already be gone if he had done enough to be fired with cause. He's getting somewhere in the area of $10 million a year and I'm sure it was a 5 or 6 year deal. I read in a Jacksonville paper that there was a morals cause in his contract that was being explored, but I can't imagine a girl dancing on him at a bar would be enough to enact that. She would have had to claim he was grabbing her without consent, or something along those lines.

Well, when I logged on to this forum today, the very last thing I thought I'd see was a reference to Dr. Kumler's Abnormal Psych class. Thanks a lot, Flipper - I'm suddenly having test anxiety flashbacks :smt073

No personal issue with Kumler.......just didn't get along with abnormal psych tests as well as I should have. I'll put the blame squarely on Howard's and crab races at Downtown. He probably had a lesson in there somewhere about shifting blame and responsibility from your own lack of discipline to something else, qualifying as being deviant behavior........and who am I to argue?

Ed Orgeron out at LSU at the end of the season. How quickly things change.

Actually the state's mandate. Same difference though.

Good call - wasn't 100% sure which one it was. Should've looked it up before I posted.

That Rolovich story is bizarre...From what I've gathered, Covid has gone from pandemic to endemic. I think we're all going to have to look at what we're willing to do to deal with it because it isn't just going to leave
