Swingle no longer on roster
Swingle is now, suddenly, omitted from the roster on bgsufalcons.com. Also, he's not in the team photo.

Re: Swingle no longer on roster
HE had a couple years and was given far more time on the court than he earned. He never made the changes he needed to make to continue to get minutes now that we have competent post players coming in.
Hopefully this means that the coaches recognized he was not going to play and told him so.
I wish him well in whatever he does.

I was so traumatized from his play last year that I'd been having paranoid visions of Hugor insisting on playing him NO MATTER WHAT......ahead of Reece, ONeal, Kula, Etim, and anyone else. With him gone, Hugor is now forced to play decent post players.

If your plan is to push the ball and look for open threes off the break, he doesn't fit. He isn't going to be that super active rim protector that can jump out and defend the open shooter....so...he really doesn't have any value short of plodding up and down the court to set picks and clog the middle.
He's kind of an anachronism....Like Andre Drummond

Best of luck to Dylan Swingle in anything he chooses to do. I think he made some academic All-MAC teams or something, so good on him.
I am absolutely not in the least bit sad to not see him on the court ever again. I hope Huger realizes the mistake and never recruits a player like him ever again. Maybe he had value in the MAC 30 years ago, but I just don't see the fit in today's game.

Whoa there, I'll allow no Drummond hate here. He really improved his mobility and became a legit baller with the PistonsFlipper wrote: ↑Thu Sep 30, 2021 9:10 am If your plan is to push the ball and look for open threes off the break, he doesn't fit. Dylan is still in school at BGSU. He’s a good student and a great kid. I think he was just burned out of basketball.

Swingle announced today via Twitter he indeed has left the program for personal reasons. Best of luck in what's next for him.

Not only am I not shocked, I thought he was already gone! It will be interesting to see if Coach can actually meld this team into a unit.
