Those are the dates reported on 247, but not what happened.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

Clear blue. Cool. Windy as hell. Nice stadium.

Kickoff on the way. Hoping for a good battle from this squad. Let’s bounce back.

Re: Next up: Northern Illinois
We received the opening kickoff.
Offense was able to get across midfield while primarily running the ball, but some dumb penalties caused us to have to punt it away.
Naranjo pins them around their own 12, and that’s where NIU will start with the ball.

A very nice day for football when the breeze dies down.
Re: Next up: Northern Illinois
Several years ago NIU announced a serious stadium expansion plan. Not sure if it is scheduled and serious, or more put together as a package to impress other conferences should they come calling.

Defense was working hard but not getting third down stops, and then Burton (who?) forces a fumble and BG will take over in plus territory.

Re: Next up: Northern Illinois
I'm concerned early about the defense getting carved up. Not just concerned for this game but for the season. If the defense which has been the strength of the season wears out, it's all on the offense to win. Uh oh.
And just as I type that we get a fumble recovery!

Burton, #18, is a freshman CB. Nice play!

We’ve run the same misdirection/fake sweep play 3 times and it’s worked every time. Must’ve seen something on tape that we thought we could exploit. I like it.

Love seeing Stewart back. Great TD drive!

Nice little play design with the tight end in motion ends up in a Christian Sims rushing TD! Also saw some direct snaps to the RB on that drive.
Falcons up 7-0 with 4:59 to play in the 1st quarter.

Nice to see misdirection on run calls. Not sure why it took so long to get a little creative.

END OF ONE: BG leads 7-0.
NIU is about 2 plays from scoring, though. Guess we’ll see.
Defense needs to get low and get tough. Get back to dominating up front and tackling well and we’ll be fine.

The 1970s called and they want their game back.
