Bring on the Emus
Re: Bring on the Emus
BG with some nice kick coverage and a 3 and out to start the game.
Offense will go to work at the 24 yard line.

BG drives down inside the EMU 10 on their first drive and it ends in a field goal.
Falcons lead 3-0 halfway through the first quarter.

Re: Bring on the Emus
EMU gets just past midfield and goes for it on 4th and 1, but the BG defense stuffs them for no gain.
BG with great field position here, up 3-0 with 3:40 to play in the first quarter.

Is McDonald honestly our best option? Hate to go at a 21 year old but that throwing motion is rough. His body is so open at release it leads to a ton of inconsistency
Re: Bring on the Emus
If you are on the fence about Loeffler, that is the thing that makes it obvious he isn’t the guy. Year 3 and that is what the QB play looks like. There are pitchers on the baseball team with shorter arm action than that.

Love the way our punter waited… and waited… for our players go get down near the end zone before kicking it. We came really close to downing it at the two. Seems like really smart special teams coaching to me.
Re: Bring on the Emus
EMU scores a TD on an inside route (been working well for them so far) from about 30 yards out and it’s 7-3 Eagles, with 14:16 to play in the second quarter.

Yes, it was definitely by design and smart. Just needed better execution there. We’ll get there.Schadenfreude wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 12:42 pm Love the way our punter waited… and waited… for our players go get down near the end zone before kicking it. Re: Bring on the Emus
BG had all the momentum early. That's all shifted to EMU with that easy TD drive. Not sure what woke up that offense but they made it look easy hitting everything through the air with the QB getting rid of the ball fast.
Need to adjust on defense and offense as usual needs to finish drives - including ending these batted passes at the line as that ended the first drive.

LOL celebrating a punt that went for a touchback as brilliant special teams coaching. The standard is the lowest ever.

I actually thought he was eyeing running for it and didn't see a route so he kicked it.Schadenfreude wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 12:42 pm Love the way our punter waited… and waited… for our players go get down near the end zone before kicking it. Same mistakes week after week on offense.
The longer the walk, the farther you crawl.
Re: Bring on the Emus
Well that drive stalled real quick. Screen pass dropped for a loss and a penalty.
