Internal BG Coach Hot Seat

Post by roguewarrior »

Ok, they likely won’t wack Loeffler for reasons good or bad. Who will fall on the sword?

I think Legashki is gone, likely by his own volition. He sucked in every phase this year, both in scheme and personnel choices, despite inheriting a great kicker and punter. I think he will realize he is losing his kicker, punter and long snapper; see the disaster unfolding, and bolt. I can point to probably 10 ST mishaps, without studying the 🎥.

Malone is the obvious choice, though he doesn’t even call the plays. If he “retires”, will it help? No way the scheme changes, no matter what rock star they bring in.

Thoughts?
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

It would not surprise me if Bob Ligashesky moved on. He has a strong resume, and would likely have options if he wants to keep coaching somewhere else. It seems to me we were kind of lucky to get him.

While Bowling Green's special teams play has not been perfect, we have seen much worse here over the years. Of note: It seems as if Ligashesky is getting much more out of Nate Needham than his predecessors did.

Judging current employees against the failures of the past is a ticket mediocrity...at best

Ya, he made him a great kicker. What about every team starting on their 40 after kickoffs, and every other mishap? It’s a lot more than the FG kicker. Does this even have to be said ? Geez

Nate did miss one, but it got wiped out by a defensive penalty, so his FG record is still officially clean. Still, he's been great and we are going to miss him next year. Hard to imagine getting the kind of reliability out of the next guy that Nate has shown this year. Too bad some of his kicks haven't had the chance to be game winners as time expired.
