Swankler was going to tally an empty netter, but Bemidji pulled the net off and there was a whistle. Cheap stuff, Tom.
I'd really like to hear the league's opinion on that. It's either a penalty, or a goal. Or they rule Swankler knocked the net off on his own and the faceoff moves outside.
No league opinion needed since it didn’t happen. Swankler goes to the net from the rear boards, BSU player engaged him physically and the net comes off. Face off stayed in the BSU zone.

Delay of game since he dislodged it intentionally. Or, call the frigging cross-check like they did in Chicoine earlier. Regardless, it wasn't a clean play.

Bemidji finally gets a goal to break the scoreless tie with 4:20 left in the middle frame.
We are skating 4 on 4. Swankler lost his stick and then didn’t have anything to help himself make the play.
I actually think another player had lost their stick, and Swankler tossed them his. Cool idea in theory, but he ended up out of position without his stick and it gave them a goal. So… not great.

Gotta keep fighting.
Malmstrom had his stick broken. Forward gave D-Man his stick, which is 100% the correct thing to do. Unfortunate Bemidji cycled the puck immediately around him.
