First off, BiG win - congrats to players and coaches who have turned this program from the very bottom of BG history and the NCAA to a respectable program moving in the right direction! I have felt that Loeffler and McDonald have taken too much crap on this board and I'm very pleased with where we are going.
That said, I do think the head coach should not be involved in play calling. Their job is management and leadership and when necessary, making the big calls. I hope this does change. Either way, with one more victory I'm calling this season a BiG success!!

Hahaha. 3-6 and currently last in a MAC East with Akron in it. BIG success by Loeffler standards.

He was out with a foot injury and didn’t travel with the team, per Todd Walker.
...and did not notice Gazarek either. Hurt?

He would not have been wrong there. I think the coaching staff did really well today considering the officiating. Several coaches tweeted things essentially saying they had to beat two teams today (Buffalo and the officials).
Yes, we would have won easily if not for many call against us that other crews would have let go.

Maybe if he really wants to turn it around he gives up play calling
To be fair they scored just as many points with Loeffler as without Loeffler.

That said I came away with the same conclusion. Head coaches calling plays more often than not turns out as too many hands on the wheel. Unless you are Lincoln Riley, you should let your OC be the OC.

Ferguson is out for the year injured.
It’s not my point of view, it’s a fact.

Damn, that’s a very tough blow. He’s without a doubt one of our best players. I do believe he has one more of eligibility, so hopefully he’s back next season. He could be huge for us next year. The coaches said they’ve had to play him out of position (he’s a S who we’ve been playing at CB) because of our needs. They said he’s a sure-fire All-MAC safety, and he actually played his way into an All-MAC player out of position. He’s very doubtful to make All-Conference now missing the last 4 games of the year. But if we can move him back to his natural S spot next season, big things could be in order. This now opens the door for whoever was behind him to now step up and show what they can do.

That's a bummer. Despite his shenanigans, he was one of the best players on defense.

Its great that we won...Stewart can definitely go beast mode. Given all the penalties, detrimental on field yapping and...yeah....our coach got thrown out of the game....Tough to say we're moving in the right direction.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

My thoughts exactly. Love seeing a win finally, but I find the crying about officiating a bit nauseating. I only watched the last quarter and a half but all the calls going against us looked pretty legit to me. We played shoddy, undisciplined football. Which is even more disappointing when you're pretty well kicking ass other than the penalties. Biggest criticism I could say is some pi seemed misguided, and that ub was probably also commiting fouls that were missed. But when replay clearly shows our guys hands up inside guys helmets how can we whine about all the hands to the face calls? When a guy steps over somebody then chucks the ball at him how can we question unsportsmanlike conduct? It's stupid ass football, period.

Loeffler getting the boot will always put us in a better place so they should try to incorporate that more often.

If you only watched the 4th you missed the calls, or mostly the no calls. And no one here has been crying at all.

I didn’t get to watch the entire game, but I thought I saw Levi out there in that final series.

The rumor I’m seeing is that Loeffler called the officiating “chickensh!t” to the ref’s face, and that’s why he was ejected.

If that’s the case… that’s a really soft official, to me.

To be fair, I think when they’re talking about “beating 2 teams”, I think they’re talking about beating themselves. That can still be a commentary on the officials, but I don’t know if they would be going on social media after a game and tweeting stuff like that. However, maybe that’s the reason it’s intentionally left vague.
And then Coach Lewis tweets a photo of his daughter and her friend for Halloween, labeling them “our week 9 opponents” as his daughter wears Buffalo gear and the friend is a ref.

Oof. I understand the frustration, and I share it, but that feels overboard for a coach to do that online.
